Connection! Over the month of August, I will speak about the importance of connections! God never intended for us to be an island unto ourselves. We need one another. It is my intention to share around the importance of relationships as we look into the fall with another great season of ministry! Family Picnic! On Sunday July 22nd, we are going to have our Annual Family Picnic. This will be held at the 3M park on Clarke road. There is a fenced in play

desk of Tony WEEKLONG 2012 EDITION #2 By the time you are reading this, we have launched our Weeklong Campaign 2012! We are eager to see as many youth as possible attend Weeklong this year on July 24. God is already showing us His favour over this event with everything coming together very nicely (people and provision). We hope that you will support the cause by attending, giving, praying for: GARAGE SALE Our annual youth fundraiser is on July 14th. If you have any unwanted treasures in your home and would like to donate, we’d gladly take it from you. Donations can all be dropped off in Pastor Bill’s office . . . kidding! All donations can be dropped off at Abundant Life during office hours and placed in the

ground for the children,

lots of games planned for them, a pavilion for us to enjoy fellowship with lots of food! Come and let’s catch up over the summer!

Prayer! Tuesday morning and Wednesday night prayer meetings will continue throughout the summer. In preparation for the fall, we want to spend time before the Lord in prayer. Also to continue praying for those not well amongst us. I love prayer because it is our invitation to spend some great time with our Heavenly Father! Come and be blessed today! basement. The last day for donations is July 12 at noon. Please attend our Garage Sale! There will be a BBQ plus homemade treats and some from Chef Lez! FOOD TREE Youth have endless pits they call stomachs! To cut the cost of food, we have our food tree at the back of the sanctuary where you are able to pick up an item or few, mark it on the sheet and bring on July 22nd; the Sunday before Weeklong. SPONSORS The cost of Weeklong is $100 per youth. If you feel

Page 2 Faithful Giving! Summer is traditionally a slow time for us to kick back, relax and enjoy a little down time. Unfortunately, it is when it comes to giving too! Would you consider how you would continue supporting ALCC over the summer months. We pray that all of us will do our part as God enables and blesses us!

led to sponsor a youth or a few, it does not have to be the full amount. You are able to donation a portion of a youth’s cost or pay it fully or even give to cut the cost of multiple youth. And it is up to you if you’d like to stay anonymous or not. The youth who get sponsored are always grateful and it’s great to see the Church respond to their need. As mentioned in the previous edition: we need prayer for direction and raising enough funds to run smoothly. If you can and feel led to help, it is much appreciated! I hope that every young soul who is eager to attend Weeklong 2012 will have the opportunity. Ignite is blessed by having your support and we look forward in lives being changed! In this together, Tony Mejia

From my Heart to Yours GRACE AND GLORY Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for our sins that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father; to Whom be Glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Gal 1:1-5) These 5 scriptures jumped out at me, indicating clearly who gets the grace and who gets the Glory. I know I’d be lost without His Grace! Even when He says: “My Grace is sufficient for you; for My strength is made perfect in your weakness” (2 Cor. 11:9)! Believe it or not His Grace is there for us no matter what we’re going through, but He expects us to give Him the Glory: Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb. 4:16). Peter tells us followers of Jesus: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue”

Page 3

(2 Peter 1:2-3). This tells me we need to know Him to get His knowledge and if you can wrap your mind around this: when He raptures us to be with Him we’ll be in our glorified bodies because human flesh cannot live in the presence of the Lord. When Moses asked the Lord: “I beseech thee, show me thy glory” the Lord answered: “Thou can not see My face; for there shall no man see Me and live. But there’s a place in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover thee with my hand while I pass by, and when I take away mine hand, thou can see my back but my face shall not be seen” (Exodus 33:18-23). So even when God descended to give Moses the 10 Commandments, He descended in a cloud. As a Spirit-filled Born Again Christian, Jesus wants us to “Stand fast in the liberty (freedom) that Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (our old ways) …..or else Christ will become of no effect unto you if you go back being justified by old laws and you will fall from Grace (taken in part from Galatians 5:1-4). Romans 8:2 declares: “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death”. It

then goes on to promise us in verse 11: “But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (give life to) your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you”. Wow; it’s like we grow in grace and live from glory to glory. Now if that’s not enough to set your motor in high gear, here’s more from Colossians 1:27: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of Glory. I conclude: If we let our light shine, God’s Power (GLORY) is generated through us.
