Thoughts from PB : Love the Summer What is there not to like about summer? Hot sunny days! Beach trips with the grandchildren! Biking! Walking! Sitting on the deck and drinking diet Pepsi (the real thing)! Holidays! Now your wondering, is this as good as it gets? NOPE! I love above all, slowing down and reflecting upon what matters most in life. You guessed it! I love reading the Word in the sun! Walking and sharing my heart with Abba! Laying on the beach and thinking about the favor of God! Sitting on the deck and being grateful for all that God has done in my life with my diet Pepsi (the real thing)! Friends, can I encourage you to spend some time this summer and reflect upon the good things of God. It is a short season but vital to allow God to strengthen and renew your passion for him. I so look forward to our Corn Roast, Family Picnic, and other great times, but more than that, I look forward to simply hearing that small still voice of one who loves me so much! Let’s enjoy summer together with one another and our great God!(He is the real thing)! Love and Prayers, PB and Kathy

Linked Up with Tony: THE MUSTARD SEED THE MUSTARD SEED. The mustard seed is fascinating. I was inspired by one man’s prayer, “May our faith be like the mustard seed: tenacious. . .” It’s Biblical and mind blowing, really it is! Reading up on the Mustard Seed, I came across, Pliny the Elder, a Roman natural philosopher’s writing on the seed, "mustard… is extremely beneficial for the health. It grows entirely wild, though it is improved by being transplanted: but on the other hand when it has once been sown it is scarcely possible to get the place free of it, as the seed when it falls germinates at once." Creation cries out God’s design. With these observations, imagine what faith would be like according to the mustard seed. “Faith is extremely beneficial for the health (physically/ mentally/spiritually) . . . Grows entirely wild (homegrown unique) . . . Transplanted possible (contagious wherever) . . . Faith germinates (growing and ever constant), etc. I believe God is trying to say something to us. I believe that’s what He wants for us is that man's prayer, that we’d have tenacious faith in God; that we’d grow in the faith that He has given us. As we enjoy and try to rest this summer, let's grow like the mustard seed. In this together, Tony Mejia

How many times do we look in the mirror each day?

STEP TEN : PERSERVERANCE We continue to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.” 1 Corinthians 10-12

Recovery is a lifelong process. There will be times when we grow weary and want to throw in the towel. We will experience pain, fear, and a host of other emotions. We will win some battles but lose others in the war to achieve wholeness. We may get discouraged at times when we can’t see any progress, even though we have been working hard. But if we persevere through it all, we can maintain the ground we have gained.

We will win some battles but lose others in The the war to achieve wholeness apostle Paul used three illustrations to teach about perseverance. He wrote to Timothy: “Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. And as Christ’s soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army. Follow the Lord’s rules for doing His work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize. Hard working farmers are the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will give you understanding in all these things” (2 Timothy 2:3-7). How many times do we look in the mirror each day? Suppose we looked in the mirror and found that we had mustard smeared around our mouth. Wouldn’t we immediately wash our face, wash and clean up the problem? In the same way, we need to routinely look at ourselves in our “Spiritual mirror,” the Bible. Then if anything is wrong, we can take the proper steps to fix it. James uses a similar illustration to show how God’s Word should be like a spiritual mirror in our life. He said, “And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don’t obey, you are only fooling yourself. For if you just listen and don’t obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law, the law that sets you free and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it” (James 1: 22-25). !!!Remember faith without works is dead.!!!
