Bethany once questioned me when I said that I never personally met a Christian until I met her. Seriously! I went 16 years of my life without meeting a Christian. I encountered lots of religious people outside of the church. I was never invited to church, a youth group, to Christmas nor Easter, not even a Heaven’s Gates & Hell’s Flames production. I was never told about the Gospel. Everything I knew came from the television, a little of the internet, and what others said. She couldn’t wrap her mind around that thought. I can’t wrap my mind around the thought that we aren’t going to: connect others to a life that matters. I can’t wrap my mind around the thought that there isn’t a place or person that God doesn’t want to send us; to tell and show, with our lives, who Jesus is. He has people and places for us to go. And we will! OUR VISION IS TO ESTABLISH THE MISSION. This is where we live the Abundant Life, not just Sunday, but throughout the week. So the vision for 2019/2020 is 3 tiered – 100 Days Of Joyful Pursuit, Bringing Joy To 100 People & Expressing 100 Hours Of Joy Throughout The City. The 100 days of joyful pursuit is broken up into 4 sections throughout the year (25 days in a row). We completed 25 days of thankfulness devotional together! Cultivating an attitude of gratitude is very important for us to establish the mission. If you haven’t completed the 25 days of thankfulness, please let me know and I’ll give you the devotional. It’s crucial for us to allow God to do that deep work in us. News on bringing joy to 100 people is coming very soon! This portion is done together as a church. Congregation members are coming up to me with ways that they are going to express joy in their lives. How they are going to volunteer. How they are going to mobilize groups to express joy. Great and simple ideas that says, I’m doing this because God cares and so do we. Now, this is HOW YOU CAN pray, give and participate. A simple prayer, “God, where would you like me to volunteer to express the joy that I have?”. I have no doubt that God has

planned, at least, 1 hour for you, to go and express the joy that God has given you. God will speak to you when you pray. God will send you, will you go? You may be the Christian that someone may meet for the first time. What a joy that opportunity would be! What a joy it is to give! What a joy to go where God sends us! What a joy it is to connect others to a life that matters; the Abundant Life that is only found in Jesus.

Volunteer somewhere with your family. Volunteer somewhere close by. Volunteer somewhere God is leading you. Then let us know about it! We’ll be gathering this information for a celebration of what God did and is doing. Because in June 2020, WE WILL celebrate the completion of our 100 days of joyful pursuit, bringing joy to 100 families or individuals and expressing 100 hours of joy in our city. God, may You send and empower us! What a joy, Tony Mejia

Building blocks for a healthy follower of Jesus In this series, your kids will learn to identify their emotions and respond to them in the way God wants! They will see how to use the Blueprint of God’s Word to manage their feelings by following three steps:

1. stopping to name the emotion they feel, 2. looking at what is going on inside and around them to cause them to feel that way 3. listening to what God says about that feeling. discovery | simplicity | encouragement

#2 HOPE A Ministry of self-examination based on the eight principles from the Beatitudes. Step 2 :"We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity." Step Two is often referred to as "The Hope Step". In coming to believe that a Power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity, we will remember what it was like to live sanely and have the faith to hope that sanity can return. "What is faith?" the Bible asks. Hebrews 11: 1 "It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. The Bible also tells us that the key to this hope is in the nature of the God we look to. We are told that "anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him" (Hebrews 11: 6). Without Hope we are miserable. Hope is the driving force behind all recovery. If we had no Hope, there would be no possibility of recovery. Understanding who Jesus is gives each of us a Hope that can transcend even our deepest despair. Jesus' resurrection forms the basisLife's of our Healing Hope because in it Godoffers demonstrated Hisfrom powerour overhurts, death. hang-ups, Choices freedom We may have long time ago thathealing hoping only brings disappointment. Ourhappiness hopes were andlearned habitsa through eight choices that promise true dashed. The promises we believed were broken. We were left feeling like fools for ever hoping anddevastated life transformation. in the first place. But perhaps we were because we put our hope in the wrong place. Turning our life over to God means placing our Hope and confidence in Him instead of people, who will disappoint us. When we place all of our hope and trust in other people, it's like expecting a tree to flourish in a barren desert. People will disappoint us and are unable to satisfy our deepest needs. Trusting God changes everything. In John 4: 14 Jesus says "the water I give becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life."

When our hope is in God and our life is in His care, we are sustained when we otherwise would be devastated.
