He who abides in Me, and I in him,

bears much fruit;

for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Change Is Happening

Welcome to our summer season!

We will be having one hour services unless the Spirit leads. (No recording of service will be available.) We will have having communion once a month. We will be discussing the fruit of the Spirit in our series, Bear Fruit. Hate not being connected to the internet? That’s what we are called to do and that’s be connected to God (Jn 5:1-27, 8:31-32; Gal. 5:22-23; Mt. 13:3-9; 2 Cor. 3:18; 1 John 1:3) This isn’t about being a good person, there’s lots of those. This is about being connected or the Bible uses the word abide to our good God who does a good work in us (Phil 1:6; Mark 10:18; John 10:11; Heb 12:5-11). Being connected to Him, allows Him to prune us of the old so we will grow. He grows what only He can grow in our lives; the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. So we learn to walk in the Spirit who is our motivator to live life abundantly each day (John 15:5; Gal 5:16, 25; Acts 17:28; John 14:26). Our relationship with the Spirit breaks the repetition that you face (Rom 7 & 8; Heb 5:7-8; Rom 6:4; 2 Peter 1:2). You change when you walk in the Spirit. When you are connected and getting closer to the Holy Spirit, holiness happens. As you follow Him, your character develops and He changes your attitude in life (1 Peter 1:15-16; Phil 2:1-18, 4:8-9; Col 3:10; John 15:11; Rom 12). So our unified prayer this summer is: God, Connect My Life To Yours! I hope that you’ll “hate” not being connected to God at every moment. Being connected to God leads us to a life that matters, a life that we all want to live; the abundant life. Only God can produce and provide that in our lives. So we pray: God, connect my life to yours (John 10:10; James 1:27). We’ll learn the fruit of being connect to God. Be connected, Tony Mejia

STEP 9: SELF DISCIPLINE We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Some of us become so focused on our personal failures in recovery that we don’t deal with the pain we have suffered at the hands of others. Some of us, on the other hand, focus too much on the ways we have been mistreated and use these as excuses for our behavior. Either approach to past abuse leaves us with emotional baggage that will hinder our progress in recovery.

Forgiving others is an important part of turning our will over to God.

Jesus taught his disciples: “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. Give us our food for today, and forgive those who have sinned against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6: 9-15) Being forgiven for the wrongs we have done to others does not excuse us from our actions or make our actions right. When we forgive others of the wrongs they have committed against us, we do not excuse what they have done. We simply recognize that we have been hurt unjustly and turn the matter over to God. This helps us face the truth about our own pain. It also rids us of any excuse to continue our compulsive behavior because of what has been done to us. Come and join us on Thursday evening @ 7:00 p.m. to begin the process of experiencing freedom from the hurts, habits and hang-ups from your passed.
