Happy New Year

Ab undant Li fe

And That’s For You What’s the next year going to bring? We don’t truly know, do we? I recommend Psalm 90. This is written by Moses. Moses had lots of personal struggles and faced lots of challenges. He was surrounded by lots of grumbling. People around were ridiculous and wouldn’t do what it took to get to the other side of the mess that they were in. But God has been their home forever and will continue to be their God AND THAT’S TRUE FOR US TOO. But with everything going on, it can feel like God is preoccupied and has all the time in the world to see things work out but do they (Ps 90:3-8; 2 Peter 3:9)? Do we? Psalm 90:12 (ESV), “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”

Our lives are short so why are waiting on something to happen that God hasn’t promised or spoken? God is good on His promises. Everything else is basically wishful thinking. It’ll most likely end with heartbreak or waiting on something else. God has another way. God, teach us to live well! God, teach us to live wisely! God teach us to live now! God, teach us to live where we gain a heart instead of filling our minds with things that are fleeting! Moses ask for this but he also has requests and hopes too (Psalm 90:13; 1 Peter 5:7). He asks God and giving Him the cares of his heart, mind, soul and entire being AND THAT’S FOR US TOO.

Moses asks God for Godly satisfaction in the morning so they’d have joy in their hearts AND THAT’S FOR US TOO (Psalm 90:14; Isaiah 58:11). Moses knows that God will surprise them by making up for the bad days and troubles with what He provides for His children AND THAT’S FOR US TOO (Psalm 90:15; James 1:2-4). Moses ask for God’s best and blessing as he trust in the God who does His best and blesses AND THAT’S FOR US TOO (Psalm 90:16; Philippians 4:19). Moses knows that there is work to do and God is the one who leads and empowers them to live it out AND THAT’S FOR US TOO (Psalm 90:17; John 14). Instead of happy new year, how about happy new day. The day that the Lord has made specifically for you to get a heart of wisdom. Wisdom that will help you to live the Abundant Life here and now. Our days are numbered. The years are short. But the God moments are everlasting. Enjoy the day, Tony Mejia
