Gresham Blake Gresham Blake are a design led tailoring business with over 20 years’ experience, combining traditional skills with modern techniques. By listening closely to their client’s needs and requirements they are able to design and create something truly personal to them.

Gresham and his wife, Fal, launched the Gresham Blake brand in Brighton at the height of ‘cool Britannia’ in 1999. They started off as bespoke tailors – offering a personal tailoring service at a very competitive price. Soon after that they introduced limited edition ready to wear suits, shirts, ties and accessories for both men and women. Their style is very British with an eccentric twist – and they are not afraid to use use bright colour and bold designs. With this in mind, their off-the peg collection is always incredibly successful. The fact that they do not mass produce anything makes their ready to wear collections still very personal. Indeed, some of the designs become quite famous in their own right – remember the ‘Pink Shark Tie’ that David Dimbelby wore on Question Time?  Look out on TV night after night – and you will always be able to spot a Gresham Blake design! Their most popular tailoring service, Gresham Blake Contemporary Bespoke suits can be made from a wide range of cloths. They work with and represent the top British fabric mills, making suits for all kinds of events and uses, from everyday work-wear to one-off occasions where run-of-the-mill robes just won't cut it. Over the years they have built up a great team of staff that support them and take equal pride in everything that is made and delivered at Gresham Blake.   The Spring Summer 18 suit collection features a mix of linen and wool suits in bold over checks and more subtle city stripes, all in a soft summery colour palette.

You can team these with one of the 20 different shirts in this collection. The designs this season range from kaleidoscope views of cactuses, to your greasy spoon fry up, along with the must have florals Gresham is known for. The goldfish shirt, which always sells out within two weeks of it arriving in the store, will be returning this season along with similar designs of dragonflies and panthers. These will be ones to watch! Printed linen shirts are also a key piece this season, featuring a granddad collar and a one button cuff for that relaxed summer look. The ties follow suit with elaborate designs of vibrant rose, summer ice-lollies and graphic ‘POW’ ties which really make an outfit. The Gresham favourite look from the new collection is the ‘Plane white shirt’, because the shirt design is of the vintage 1950s bowing planes.   The ladies wear range this Spring Summer features some must-have silk shirts in a choice of 3 designs: elegant purple dragonflies, bold pink panthers and striking sunflowers. The sunflower design was created in collaboration with Laura Whitmore for the MTV charity, Staying Alive. Gresham produced 50 ties in this design, which are currently available in store and online, with £20 per tie sale going to the charity. Gresham made up a one-off silk shirt in the sunflower print for Laura to wear but has had so many people writing in wanting it, that it has made it into the collection. These silk shirts are the perfect day to night outfit and are Fal’s must-have item of the season. With the success of the sell out Pills jumpsuit last season, the team have decided to run the design again, building the collection with an stunning yellow butterfly design. This is the absolute perfect festival look!
