The paradox of design 理學家Barry Schwartz(2005) 註1 曾提到:「在西方工業社會定律思 維影響之下我們往往認為讓所有人獲得最大自由的方式就是獲得最 多選擇但事實上﹐過多自由選擇有兩個負面效果;”癱瘓及降低選擇 的滿足感”,因此選擇沒有讓我們更自由﹐而是不自由; 沒有更快樂 ﹐而是更不滿」。

近代設計有過於強調特定機能的傾向,將物體細分,藉以增加商品 。但自然是多樣性的集合體,人也是自然的一部分,而所謂的功能 並非只存在於「道具」或「使用者」某一方的身上,而是藉由雙方 的力量融合。深澤直人(2008) 註2 隨著物品演進的過程中,設計是一種必然的探尋行為,當各式各樣 的解決方案在現實中接受環境的考驗後;能夠留下來的,唯有從整 體環境(物、人、空間、時間)的關係思考並出發之設計能夠永存,經 過這樣思考脈絡的產出物才不淪落於僅提供人們多一個選擇,而是 消除多餘的選擇。 Physicists Barry Schwartz (2005) was mentioned: "In the official dogma of Western industrial society, we believe that If we are interested in maximizing the welfare of our citizens, the way to do that is to maximize individual freedom, and the way to maximize freedom is to maximize choice. " Mordan design has the trend to over emphasizd the specific functions to increase the category of products.But “Natural” is a combination of diversity, and the human is also a part of natural. Therefore, the“function” not just only exist on tool or user. Instead, it is a combination of ther strength. As the products in the evolution, the design is a necessity to explore,When a variety of solutions/design to be tested in the real word; the solutions/design which think over the environment (object,human,space and time) will remain. An item which through those test, can eliminate redundant choices instead of just offer another choice.

刷鉤子 Hook for brush 人們使用油漆刷的方式一直以來都沒有太大改變,但 仔細檢視整個使用過程後發現到;使用過的刷子無論 放在何處都會沾到並黏住、若放置於漆桶蓋子上也會 讓蓋子邊緣沾上漆,使得蓋回去後溝槽也會沾到漆。

若刷子上能有東西既可當作平面放置的架子同時又可 以滿足掛在漆桶內的需求將能夠大大增加使用上的便 利性。 在著手決定其形式時必定涉及生產成本和價格的比例 考量,以彎曲的鐵線形成鉤架是個可行的方案,在原 本的製造方式上也不會有太大的改變,因此可以以較 少的成本付出得到最大的設計效益。 在決定鉤架形態時寬度、角度、粗細等都會決定其使 用的便利性以及製造時的可行性,此造形便是經過各 方面權衡之後的到的結果。 The way we use paint brush are constant for many years, but the major inconvenient of the used brush is the chance to stains paint anywere. 瓷的記憶 The Memory of Porcelain 記憶代表著一個人對過去活動、感受、經驗的印象累 積,不同的記憶會因環境、時間和知覺帶來不同的感 受。除了大腦記憶之外、還有肌肉記憶;一種下意識 的協調行為,觀察並利用這種協調行為便可達到深澤 直人所謂”洽好”的設計;也就是affordance的應用。

纖維筆座 The Fiber 纖維是一種由連續或不連續的細絲組成的物質。在動植 物體內,纖維在維繫組織方面起到重要作用。纖維用途 廣泛,可織成細線、線頭和麻繩,造紙或織氈時還可以 織成纖維層;同時也常用來製造其他物料,及與其他物 料共同組成複合材料。

記得小時候對於許多食物的好惡是很分明的,想吃的 食物會想一直吃,但對於不喜歡的食物如青豆、胡蘿 蔔丁之類的,要靠近都很難。於是總會有意無意的將 那些東西掉落到桌面上,甚至用餐具把玩,但就是不 肯入口。這樣的記憶引起我創作此作品的動機,目的 是滿足孩提時期用餐的幻想以及樂趣。 When i was a child, there's a clear boundaries between the foods i like and dislike.For example: green beans and carrots.Intentionally or unintentionally, they always fall out onto the plate. It transform the pleasure to eating into the pleasure to play. Such memories caught my motivation for creating this work, the purpose is to meet the childhood fantasy and fun dining.

人類的行為是一種不斷和所處環境、物品互動的連續 ,適當的道具介入程度有助於優化人類的行為。安全 榔頭從「釘釘子」這項行為重新檢視現有道具的不足 ,並發現「安全性」和「使用便利性」是手工具最需 要先被滿足的條件,因此針對這兩點對榔頭進行重新 的設計。 The behavior of human is an activity that in between people and environment, objects. An appropriate intervention of material can optimized that activity .The Safe Hammer is a project that reexamine the activity of “nailing”, and it discovered two major issue:”safety and expedience. Therefore, the design of Safe Hammer was took aim to solve this two problem.

The two major components of a hammer are the head and the handle. The design of these two components depends on the specific application, but all hammers have many common features.

The striking surface of the head is called the face. It may be flat, called plain faced, or slightly convex, called bell faced. A bell-faced hammer is less likely to bend a nail if the nail is struck at an angle. Another face design is called a checkered face. It has crosshatched grooves cut into the surface to prevent the hammer from glancing off the nail head. Because it leaves a checkered impression on the wood, it is usually only found on framing hammers used for rough construction. The surface of the head around the face is called the poll. The poll is connected to the main portion of the head by the slightly tapered neck. The hole where the handle fits into the head is called the adze (adz) eye. The side of the head next to the adze eye is called the cheek. On the opposite end of the head, there may be a claw, a pick, a semi-spherical ball peen, or a tapered cross peen depending on the type of hammer. There may also be a second face, as in a double-faced sledge hammer. Hammers are classified by the weight of the head and the length of the handle. The common curved claw hammer has a 7-20 oz (0.2-0.6 kg) head and a 12-13 in (30.5-33.0 cm) handle. A framing hammer, which normally drives much larger nails, has a 16-28 oz (0.5-0.8 kg) head and a 12-18 in (30.5-45.5 cm) handle.

翻轉是一種令人著迷的動作,在狀態與狀態之間擺盪 ,介於各有個性的型態轉換中讓人捉摸不透。空間中 展開的翼,翻轉過後自主地尋找它的歸處,在迷途裡 發現遠方呼喊的燈塔,最終著陸於它的家,它的停泊 港灣。U.F.O. 如同幽浮般在空間中航行,轉換著各種它 的型態與尺寸。它能是四人優雅分隔而坐的方桌(80 *80 cm);也可以是闔家團圓,比肩而坐的圓桌(直徑 113cm)。兩片桌板間由布質絞鏈連結,可以自由翻轉, 在翻轉之間滿足不同需求。翩然、翻轉、登陸,如同 UFO變幻莫測。 Flipping is a fascinating action; swing between the status and status. Cojet是UV噴繪機的其中一個系列,雖然本案主要是外 觀的設計,但按鍵、顯示幕、緊急開關、等使用者經驗 與介面的配置亦會引響整體使用行為的流暢程度。因此 位置在著手進行外觀設計前先進行使用者行為的觀察是 必要的,先定義出流暢的使用行為才會有後續外形的發 展,而外形的發展會持續和製造成本和技術產生拉鋸與 互動。

Cojet is a series of UV print and graphic machine. This project not only concern about the appearance but also care about the fluency of UX. That result an inclusive design issue, from the size of button to the position of desplay area. Other details of the design will be conducted while the UX was affluent, and the adjustment of details is relative with the cost and technique of production.

山道預警系統 Metis 註1

山路彎道處因為視線遮蔽以及車速過快導致越線等問 題使車禍發生機率高於其他路況。 山道預警系統設置於即將入彎處,可以提早預警對向 即將來車並減低車速,使用壓電材料讓山道預警系統 可以透過車輛通過所產生之壓力轉換成電力,達到自 行供電的效果。 Because sight shadowing and excessive speed causing the vehicle to cross the line, resulting the the probability of accident in mountain bands were higher than other traffic condition. Metis set in Bend, It lets drivers know the car on opposite side in advanceand, and maks drivers slow down. It convert the pressure of passing vehicle into electric power by using piezoelectric materials.

公共場所如:醫院、學校與飯店都設有室內平面逃生圖 ,但真正發生火災、地震等警急事件時無法有 效率地記憶平面圖上的逃生路線並對應到實際環境, 且在火災現場中,因濃煙遮蔽位於上方的逃生指引標 示,讓人無法有效逃生。北極星利用投射式逃生指引 系統使人直接看到逃生疏散方向。 Public places such as: hospitals, schools and hotels have plan view for escape , but in the real fire situation, the chaos makes the escape more difficult. Arrowstar guidance system using the projected line and its adaptability to evacuate people efficiently.

The desk is a place of work and of action, but it also serves as a place to exhibit personal things and preferences. Thus it always characterizes in two ways a material and symbolic unity. The desk is not only very informative in itself, but also must always be studied and understood in the context of its cultural, gender-specific, and field-related surroundings. The focus of this study is a comparative analysis of the use of desks. Desks in insurance companies, banks, administrative authorities, call centers, and design studios in twelve countries on all continents were studied. This publication presents the results in the form of extensive visual material, empirical analyses, and critical essays. The study was carried out by the Koln International School of Design (KISD) in collaboration with universities in Hong Kong; New York; Seoul; Taipei; Curitiba, Brazil; Pune, India; Auckland; Milan; and Fukuoka, Japan

Relationship Among Visual Complexity, Product Image of Power Hand Tool and Consumer Preferences

Designers can manipulate various shape features to achieve the desired level of visual complexity in products. This study examines power tool design from the perspective of visual complexity, investigating the relations between consumer preference and visual complexity of products. A comparison between different genders was also conducted in aspects of differences and preferences in visual complexity and functional images recognition. Lastly, an experiment with variables such as color and functional shape details was conducted in order to understand how changes in color and functional shape details affect the recognition of consumers of different genders Experiment One and Two investigated the effects of visual complexity on consumer recognition, and results showed that higher visual complexity resulted in recognition of professional, powerful, and eye-catching qualities. However, higher visual complexity reduced recognition of strength quality in products. Besides, higher visual complexity corresponded with higher eye-catching quality recognition.
