LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT (HSWT) URBAN PLANNER (GNDU)

I belong to Kanpur a metropolitan city is my source of motivation to pursue my graduation in this field. In British era it was referred as “Manchester of East. The development occurred at that time can be still seen in few parts of the city. Things which needed to improve had further deteriorated. Being a part of this structure it made me realized that now its a new story, now is the time to do something for it and turning out to be a landscape architect....

Main Project I : The Natopia (Establishing New Identities)

Introduction and Vision:

Scenario I: Business as Usual Identity Orientation

As of Nov 2017, the population has increased to 5,345 inhabitants and exponential growth is expected to continue in the future. This pressure of population growth leads to the need for more living spaces, schools, retirement homes, shopping opportunities etc. Gradual degradation of rural characters is another challenge that Odelzhausen is currently facing which leads to further degradtion of the local fabric. Traditional farms, historic castles and monasteries such as the cloister of Taxa are replaced by commercialareas, modern houses and apartments. It is planned in the future to revitalise the area and foster more community life by, for example, creating a small park with Kneipp-facilities, play areas and sports facilities directly in the center of the village, which at the moment does not provide any incentive for social activities, thus gradually losing the function of a social meeting point.

Although the nearest S-Bahn connection is in Markt Indersdorf, about 18 kilometres away, Odelzhausen is directly located on the motorway A8, leading to a high traffic density in the centre of Odelzhausen, which leads to traffic jams, especially in the morning and evening rush hours. A possible solution is the planned north bypass for additional motorway access. Its proximity to Munich and Augsburg is contributing to rapid population growth.

NATURE

Proritized

Odelzhausen is located in the district of Dachau in the southwest of Bavaria. It is also a part of the so-called Glonnvalley. Despite its small size and a water level of about 100 cm, the Glonn shapes the landscape around Odelzhausen. Its community includes the villages Dietenhausen, Ebertshausen, Essenbach, Gaggers, Hadersried, HĂśfa, Lukka, Todtenried, Miegersbach, RoĂ&#x;bach, St. Johann, Sittenbach, Sixtnitgern and Taxa respectively.

(Freespace: A new Park for Bergamo)

Introduction and Vision: The main theme is to design a ‘BIO-PARK’, which involves the peripheral areas of Bergamo, building a ‘plant archipelago’ made up of different components, productive and recreational, ornamental and experimental, creating a new public park as part of an ecological corridor. The criteria for assesing and designing the park are described as followed : - The park’s outstanding character and innovation potential, Sustainability and ecological values, consideration and integration of existing valuable structures. - Functionality as a landscape research hub and general suitability of the proposal. - Attractiveness and inclusiveness for public uses (children, families, youth, elderly people, students, visitors and tourists etc.) as well as Visual uniqueness and recognition value.

Main Project II : Parco Di Coli (Freespace: A new Park for Bergamo)

Historical Profile With a population of around 120,000, Bergamo is the fourth-largest city in Lombardy. Bergamo is the seat of the Province of Bergamo. The metropolitan area of Bergamo extends beyond the administrative city limits, spanning over a densely urbanized area with slightly less than 500,000 inhabitants. The Bergamo metropolitan area is itself part of the broader Milan metropolitan area, home to over 8 million people. The city of Bergamo is composed of an old walled core, known as CittĂ Alta ("Upper Town"), nestled within a system of hills, and the modern expansion in the plains below. The upper town is encircled by massive Venetian defensive systems that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

04 PAP Schottermarial Master Plan Concept I

The project comprises of designing the parking for the residential site in the densed city of Luxembourg already facing the issues of space and parking considerations. The design aimed to connect different buildings with the pedestrian access as well as conncetivity for the vehicles also play a crucial role.

Concept II

The major difference between both the concepts is the availabilty of surface parking spaces. Concept I focuses on keeping the existing space and structure requirements with minimalistic changes in the site with more parking spaces available as compared to the second concept.

This was one of the project which i undertook so as to design a private garden for a reidentail house in the Luxembourg.

Visualization and Section

06 Town Study (Udaipur)

This exercise made us understand the structure and working of the town. We understood the core functions of the city and the spatial expansion of the same thus producing a master plan for the further development of the area.

07

Institutional Site Planning (Veterinary Hub)

Introduction and Vision: The site selected is located in Ludhiana. The total area covered is 102 acres. The national highway and a bye pass road touches the site from two sides. Therefore, buffer area is left; the total developable area left 93 a c r e s . The main aim of the exercise was to establish an understanding of how the institutional site performs and also to have an oulook of the designing guidlines and regulations for the same.
