OCTOBER AND NOVEMBERS MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE DALLAS INN LOCATED AT 16860 US HIGHWAY 301 SUMMERFIELD FL @ 2 PM


American Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments And…… American Bikers Aimed Towards Education Board and General Meeting Agenda Forest Chapter of ABATE Sunday October 9th, 2016 @ Dallas Inn Summerfield, FL Meeting Start time: 226 pm Attendance:2 Guests, 12 Members Pledge & Prayer led by President Glenn Myers President Glenn Myers – Gave some information about the State Meeting in Arcadia on October 8th. December 10th is the next State meeting in Naples, Fl. He spoke about what ABATE is: We’re a grass roots legislative organization aimed towards educating about motorcyclists and motorcycle safety. Our main function is to stop the helmet law from getting passed. Since 1981 Florida is the first state they look at after new elections. The state has taken the safety money that used to go to ABATE and given it to other organizations, we’d like to get it back to ABATE. Jim Mahaffey has stepped down as VP and Jonathan Flynn has stepped into the position. Donny will move back to Sergeant @ Arms instead of Assistant Sergeant @ Arms. Glenn asked that a Treasurer be elected and nominated Jennifer Borelli. A vote was taken and all in attendance agreed on Jennifer Borelli stepping up to Treasurer position, she will also take care of membership until someone takes over that position. VP Jonathan Flynn ( Big Country)- newly appointed Secretary Tina Myers – Last month’s minutes motion to accept by Renee 2nd by Carolynn Treasurer – Jennifer Borelli- newly appointed Sgt @ Arms- Don Daniszewski - absent Membership- Jennifer Borelli- 135 members 75 life 60 annual. Paperwork was signed to complete the transfer for Rene McWhorten. Products – Carolynn Flynn- Waiting on patches that were ordered. Working on getting shirts made up. Legislative Trustee : Russell Pace –not present PR/Events :Bridgette Pace- absent Safety and Awareness – Vacant Newsletter Editor - Vacant Chaplain – Vacant Old Business – First karaoke contest at Sharkey’s Lounge was huge success! Looking forward to the next one at English Dart Tavern on October 15th. President Glenn Myers took quilts to state meeting to show everyone, they were a big hit. Tickets were handed out to all the chapters. We still have open positions. New Business – Checking into t-shirts for our chapter. Lake County Products is helping us with the connections. We talked about a bike show that Kids helping Kids wanted us to help with it was decided we would not be able to help because we had a previous commitment for the same day. The chapter voted on the next location for the chapter meeting. Black Bear Pub was picked for the Dec.,Jan., and Feb. meetings. They will still be held on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2pm. Meeting ended at 346 pm.


PRESIDENTS PIT GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS FROM THE FOREST, THE STATE MEETING WENT WELL SATURDAY. ONLY 2 CHAPTERS DIDN’T MAKE IT THERE, HUMBLING CONSIDERING WHAT WE ALL WENT THRU. REGULAR MEETING SUNDAY AT DALLAS INN WAS QUICK AND CONSISE, ONLY 9 PEOPLE THERE AND THAT’S DISHEARTENING, HOPEFULLY EVERYONE WILL COME TO THE NEXT MEETING, THE LAST FOR DALLAS THEN ONTO BLACK BEAR PUB FOR DEC, JAN, AND FEB MEETINGS. 1ST KARAOKE WENT WELL BUT ONLY 3 MEMBERS ME, TINA, AND JENNIFER. WISH YOU GUYS AND GIRLS WOULD SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ABATE CHAPTER AND COME OUT EVEN IF YOU DON’T SING, COME HAVE A COLD BEVERAGE. IT’S A GOOD THING TO MEET AND HANG WITH ABATERS JUST BESIDES A MEETING. I KNOW IT’S A CRAZY WORLD RIGHT NOW WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS AND ALL THE BULL,.W E ARE 29 DAYS AWAY, PRAY EVERYONE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND VOTE, IT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF , YOUR COUNTRY, YOUR FAMIL,Y AND FOR YOURSELF PLEASE VOTE. NOW WITH SOME OF THE ELECTIONS COMPLETE AT STATE LEVEL WE AS ABATE HAVE LOST MUCH SUPPORT AND IN THAT I NEED EVERYONE ON POINT TO BEGIN OUR PUSH TO THE STATE CAPITAL APRIL 10,2017. WE ARE GOING TO BE CALLING OUR REPS, OUR CONGRESSMEN, OUR CONSTITUENTS ANY AND ALL THAT WILL LISTEN. WE WILL BE FACING A HELMAT LAW THIS SESSION SO GET READY THAT IS OUR SOLE PURPOSE OUR GOAL OUR EVERYTHING FIGHTING LEGISLATION TOWARDS A HELMAT LAW AND SAFETY ISSUES ORIENTED AGAINST THE MOTORCYCLE COMMUNITY. WE HAVE PEOPLE JOINING, LAST MONTH 9 YESTERDAY 1, SO LETS DRIVE ON, I NEED FIGHTERS TO FIGHT THIS FIGHT COME BESIDE ME AND LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GUNNY
