AppCampus participants spend four intensive weeks in Otaniemi, Finland, learning everything they can to launch their businesses as high as their hopes.
E CAME here thinking we were basically there. We had a great app. We got good reviews. But we wanted to position ourselves for more visibility,” says 36-year-old Tomas Sakalauskas. “From the first day on the course, we realised we hadn’t even crossed the starting line.” Tomas is one half of the duo representing Lithuanian company No Brakes Games at AppCampus, an accelerator programme that walks participants through the finest details of creating, developing and marketing their product. A quirky kids’ game called Pocket Sheep is his team’s magnum opus and their object of focus during the jam-packed month-long programme. Like the other participants, Tomas gives a pretty glowing report of the experience. It’s hard work and there’s no time for sightseeing, but, if it’s the big time you’re after, all reports are that AppCampus HQ is a good place to start.
