The President’s

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 50th Balloon Fiesta a great success. While we can’t control the weather the Fiesta Staff and volunteers put on a great show. Now we are looking forward to several upcoming activities and events. The Jingle Bell non-Rally is coming in December. Regular Flying Events are happening each month. Our By-laws special committee will also be making recom mendations for updated changes to the ways we conduct our elections as well as other proposals for the vote of the membership. Thanks to all of our AAAA members who continue to support and work to improve our sport.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at president@hotairballooning.org or call me at (505) 259-8632. AAAA is your voice for ballooning. I look forward to hearing from you.

New Items in the store, specifically can Koozies. I’d love for people to buy online and come and pick up the items at the meeting in September (we should have a huge turnout so it would be nice to avoid any crazy sales the day of). Pins, Koozies, stickers, glove clips, etc. The big ticket can coolers are here: https://hotairballooning. org/product/frost-buddy-universal-can-cooler/ They are a fundraiser item, hence the price.

Special Events - Chris

If you would like to get more involved in helping with special events please contact Chris McCord.

Tales from the Chase Truck

It has been suggested to our Vice President Peter, that maybe AAAA members would like to hear stories from Chase Crews about their experiences, fun and high jinks during the Chase.

If you are interested in submitting a Reader’s Digest version of your story, please send a Word file, along with photos, to Blair Kaufman at president@hotairballooning.org for consider ation.

Please include the author’s name, location of story event and names of pertinent persons in the article. The photos should be high res jpegs with information of the photographer’s name included.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Lynda Crispino at cloudbouncer@hotairballooning.org

o Update the non-discrimination closure

o Allow electronic voting

o Get rid of the director at large statement

New Business:

Fiesta Registration: Peg sent out an email in regards to the AAAA table at Fiesta pilot regis tration. Merchandise, membership, and safety seminar tickets will all be sold.

Jingle Bell Non-Rally: Blair is going to get together with Chris and see what he needs help with in regards to Jingle Bell.

These graphics are from a presentation by Peter Cuneo at the October General Meeting. It depicts Black’s Ranch, now known as Quail Ranch. The current lease owner is not balloon friendly, and if you land in there it will be a difficult retrieve in more ways than one. Avoid landing in the area. Watch the video of the meeting for more details. https://youtu.be/HHDSs4qbwqo Or use the news link on the web site.
