Cold weather flying is the topic, make sure that you join us at the Museum. I hope to see everyone out flying now that it is colder and our “prime” season is now! As planned, there was no October AAAA Flying Event due to Fiesta. Our next Flying Event will be Saturday November 10 at the Rio Rancho field. Sign in will begin at 06:00 AM, pilot briefing will be at 06:30 AM. Volunteers are still needed to help with registration and scoring – contact Keith Lutz if interested. Reminder, due to a scheduling conflict at Balloon Fiesta Park the Jingle Bell Rally and the December Flying Event have been rescheduled to December 15 & 16. This coincides with the Top Gun flying event on the 16th. The AAAA Flying Event is scheduled for Saturday. If we do not fly on Saturday, the AAAA flying task on Sunday will be used as the first Top Gun task, chosen from the AAAA task types. We are also working with Top Gun so that interested AAAA competitors can compete for fun on the remaining Top Gun tasks on Sunday (regardless of which day the AAAA Flying Event happens). Non-Top Gun members results will not affect the Top Gun official scoring, but they will receive their scoring distances. More details on this to follow.
A registration form is included in this month's Cloudbouncer and is also available on the AAAA website at www.hotairballooning.org. You can register by mail or on the website. Cost is $40 for AAAA members or $45 for nonmembers.
