1. FLATNESS

THE BRIEF FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A ‘TOUCHSTONE’ FOR THE SCHOOL PROJECT AND HELP US TO RELATE OUR PROJECT GRANGETOWN, CARDIFF. MY TOUCHSTONE CONVEYS THE DIFFERENT SITE, FROM THE DIFFERENT TOPOGRAPHICAL LAYERS TO THE SOC ‘FLATNESS’ OF THE MARSH IS WHAT WE INITIALLY PERCIEVE, H WILL DISCOVER THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PLACE.

MARSH SITE, WITH RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL AREAS AT THE . MY DESIGN RESPONDED TO THESE SITE CONDITIONS BY CLOSING LY OPENING IT UP TO THE VIEWS AND WILDERNESS OF THE MARSH. GHTER WOODEN STRUCTURE. THE ROOVES OF THE CLASSROOMS AND CE THE MARSH AND THE SOUTH-EAST LIGHT.

3.VERTICAL STUDIO STET ARCHITECTURE


WE DESIGNED A HOLIDAY HOUSE FOR PEOPLE IN THE EMMAUS COMMUNITY. THESE PEOPLE ARE RECOVERING DRUG ADDICTS AND EXHOMELESS. WE WORKED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM, LISTENING TO THEIR IDEAS TO DESIGN A PLACE SUITED TO THEIR NEEDS. WE BASED OUR DESIGN AROUND AN EXISTING old FARM BUILDING ON SITE.

THIS PROJECT ALLOWED ME TO ANALYSE A SPECIFIC PLACE WHICH HAS A SIGNIFICANT MEANING TO ME. I CHOSE A TURNSTYLE IN MY HOMETOWN AND ANALYSED THRESHOLDS AND ROUTES AND THEIR IMPORTANCE IN ARCHITETURE.

INDIVIDUAL DWELLING MY SCHEME FOR THE INDIVIDUAL DWELLING WAS TO DESIGN A HOUSE WITH MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY THAT COULD GROW AND SHRINK OVER TIME, DEPENDING ON THE INHABITANTS NEEDS. I DESIGNED A NUMBER OF COMPONENT PARTS THAT COULD BE ADDED IF NEEDED.
