What I think about UX What kind?

1. UX

is about communication. UX is not about contextual inquiries, story boarding, wire framing, persona or heuristic evaluation: These are the tools that even children can handle. The essence of UX professional is to communicate: to bring logic and clarity to design decisions, open discussion and collaboration between different professions and bring facts instead of assumptions to the design process. They are the manifesto of Prosumerism.

2. UX

designers don’t design UX. Instead, an UX designer need to motivate team members, give them credits, involve them in the design process and make them deeply committed to the idea in order to bring good user experience. After all, a good user experience is best achieved through the passion of every team member.

3. UX

design is only good when you can turn them into desires. All those technical terms that psychologists and HCI experts were talking about just mean nothing if they are simply not something what people are asking for. Microsoft could use persona as a tool for terrifying UX. A good UX designer must turn their knowledge into tools that help them understand deeper about their users.

4. Good

usability is one inch from terrible UX Good usability measures give you safe products, not great products. In fact, an idea that is not dangerous is not even an idea. Focusing too much on usability makes your product boring, and there is nothing worse than boring yet.

Asus AiCloud design

CHI student competition ARt Guide AR system Chef express

Browser UI 2010 Asus AiCloud is an inter-connected private cloud that helps you manage your Asus routers as a mini system operates on Asus routers. It focuses on a NAS system. I designed the interface to replace the sharable inter-router file sharing system that replaces initial interface that doesn’t suit the branding the FTP in a new form of interaction. The AiCloud is purpose of our new system. also a remote-controlled download/monitor system

iPhone UI 2010 Asus AiCloud is an inter-connected private cloud that helps you manage your Asus routers as a mini system operates on Asus routers. It focuses on a NAS system. I designed the iPhone interface with a sharable inter-router file sharing system that replaces personal remote media centre at heart which avoids the FTP in a new form of interaction. The AiCloud is the product from being another FTP system. also a remote-controlled download/monitor system

ARt Guide AR system Chef express

ARt Guide is an augmented reality system that combines virtual information/illustrations on top of real world art objects. I ran this project as my dissertation. My work involve evaluation of current ARt Guide system, re-design of its interface,

experiment design and analyses. I manage to learn JavaScript/Unity 3D and finish all the work in 3 months which is both intense and fun.

Chef express

Chef Express was a recipe app specifically designed for students who study abroad in the UK. However we discovered similar needs among several different groups of stake holders which eventually expanded the scope of the project into an application that

could be used widely among other user groups as well. We designed the process, the function, the flow through full UCD process. The final product includes an app along with a hardware concept design.

How I did

This all began with a simple idea: Why it couldn’t be easier for students who is now studying abroad in the UK to have an app that helps them cook easier, cheaper healthier and quicker? This project was managed to finish in 3 weeks.

What we’ve found

The user journey Conceptual design

1. Students hate fridge management.

To remember the date before use is even more troublesome than cooking itself for the students.

2. Many students need an integrated solution that saves time. Including telling them what to cook, how to cook, bring the ingredients, how much and when to buy ingredients again, managing the date before use of your ingredients.

3. Making dishes that are suitable to be mixed into lunch boxes is essential for students. Optimally the food taste good even when they are cold. Usually they don’t have the chance to toast it.

ď ś Determined on UX Profession.

I took the HCI course in UCL for nothing but to improve my skills in this particular profession. I also learned a lot from the CHI 2013 conference about the latest research and methodologies applied in the field. An active member of UXPA and IxDA as well.
