T h e R - C o l l e c t i o n c l o t h e s a r e d e s i g n e d , t h e i r ­p a t t e r n s drawn and fabrics cut in Kajaani, a city on the eastern border of Finland. It is surrounded by uninhabited pine woods and dark forest ponds. The harsh conditions o f t h e v a s t w i l d e r n e s s a f f e c t e v e r y t h i n g w e d o . We demand extreme functionalit y and durabilit y from our clothes. A thick wool jumper needs to fit into c o a t s l e e v e s . Fa b r i c s n e e d t o e n d u r e t h e c h a n g e s i n ­w e a t h e r a s w e l l a s b e w a s h a b l e .
