About

Programming agenda

Located at the pier 15, San Fransisco, the Exploratorium is a twenty-first-century learning laboratory, an eye-opening, always-changing, playful place to explore and tinker. For more than forty years, they’ve built creative, thought-provoking exhibits, tools, programs, and experiences that ignite curiosity, encourage exploration, and lead to profound learning.

Osher West Gallery (Human Behavior) : Experiment with thoughts, feelings, and social behavior.

Background It is founded by Frank Oppenheimer who was a teacher in high school. The field trips and experiments he did with his high school students would become a blueprint for the hands-on methods of teaching and learning he would later bring to the Exploratorium.

South Gallery (Tinkering) : Think with your hands. A workshop area where visitors can engage in learning thorugh making. Bechtel Central Gallery (Seeing and Listening) : Experiment with light and vision, color, sound and hearing, and motion and spatial perception. East Gallery (Living Systems) : Investigate the living world. Many exhibits relate directly to the immediate local environment and explore different biological systems and processes. Fisher Bay Observatory Gallery : Explore the local environment. The gallery focuses on what visitors can see in real time, including the movement of clouds and tides, the changing waterfront, the movement of ships, and interpretation of oceanographic data. Outdoor Gallery : Open your senses to this place by the Bay. Focus is on direct interaction with the Bay environment.
