7amleh has produced one very comprehensive study and analysis of social media in Palestine during the period in question.
7amleh compiled a report on the use of social media amongst the Palestinian population in all of historic Palestine in 2015. The report included statistical analysis of computer, internet and social media use amongst the Palestinian population as well as in-depth analysis about the most widespread and important campaigns on Palestinian social media throughout 2015. Combining the two forms of analysis allowed 7amleh to develop the organization’s understanding of how social media and political action feed into each other. The report also covered the violations of Palestinians’ freedom of expression online, detailing arrests and detainments of Palestinians made by Israel, The Palestinian Authority and Hamas due to posts on social media.
