They will still hear about you! (2) Apostle Clement
h child of God hear this! You might have heard a message that says “….. affliction….shall not rise the second time” Nahum 1:9b, and yet you see affliction more than ten times. This does not mean that God’s word is not true. The time you think your first affliction is over, it may just be the beginning of another affliction. But one thing is sure; God will not allow you to die in that affliction. So whenever you encounter tough times in anything you begin, do not use it to determine your destiny. Do not say you are born to suffer that way, because once there is life there is hope. See Jesus being afflicted, yet he became the saviour of our world.
Philippians 2:9-11 records: Therefore (because he stood so low). God has highly Exalted Him and freely bestowed on Him the name that Is above every name, that at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and Under the earth, and every tongue should confess and acknowledge That Jesus Christ is lord, to the glory of God the father. Today, the name of Jesus produces miracles, healing, deliverance, open doors and anything good. In John 14:13, Jesus himself said: I, myself will grant whatever you may ask in my name (presenting all I am), so that the father may be glorified And extolled in (through) the son. Without His suffering, the name would not have become so powerful as it is today. Do you know that by the time God finishes graduating you from that ugly situation and places you in higher position, your name will become an answer to many problems. The moment you append your signature on paper with your name, someone can gain favour, secure job, be freed from prison, be promoted because it is a great name everyone would like to associate with. Do not give up yet. There is hope. Only change your approach to the situation you are into now. Develop a positive attitude and you will have a positive answer and solution. In Isaiah 60, it is written, “that even in the midst of crush darkness, my light will shine.” No matter the power of darkness, a little light is glorified. God is the beginning of beginings. So, if you are the image, you will experience what He experienced and be glorified the same way He was glorified. God is interested in your attitude. Temptations are not wrong. Trials are not evil, but your attitude to them matters a lot. God’s attitude to darkness was positive. In Genesis 1:3, the Bible says, “And God said, let there be light and there was light”. So , what is your attitude to your mistakes of yesterday, your challenges, the accusation against you? Every wrong attitude is the product of the mind. You may have been wounded, but your reaction matters a lot. Solutions are easy when situation becomes worst. Do not be in haste to answer that question until you see the end of the problem.
Darkness covered the deep and yet God was not in haste. You may have too many problems coming from various angles: house, office, village, church, all coming at the same time. Do not be in haste to react until you see the end. In verse 14 of the same Genesis chapter 1, “God said, let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them sighs and token(of God’s provident care), and (to mark) seasons, days, and years”. This, therefore, means that before you have Sighs and Seasons, darkness must be separated. Before you have seasons of Joy, peace and celebration, darkness must give way. Your season may be once or twice in a year, but the most important thing is, let there be manifestation in your season. And you need light for it. What ushers light is attitude. The people of Israel were in the wilderness for forty years instead of forty days because of their attitude. You may have a journey of a week for twenty days because of your attitude to it. There will be no solution to your problems at the beginning until you speak out like God. Have a positive thought and confession about it. In john 1:1-5, the bible records: In the beginning (before all time) was the word(christ) and the word Was with God, and the word was God Himself. He was present original With God. All things were made and came into existence through him, and Without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him Was life and the life was the light was the light of men. And the light shines on Darkness, for darkness has never overpowered it, put it out, or has not absorbed It, has not appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it. The above scripture says that the light shines on darkness and darkness did not comprehend it. It did not stop it. When the light of God shines upon you, people will not understand where you are going. They may have the full knowledge of your ugly yesterday but may not know where you will get to. Let the light of God shine upon you, your business, your ministry, your project, your vision, your family and darkness will not cover it. When your beginning seems tough, keep on going until you reach your destination. Become tough to tough times and you will be celebrated. This is your time to shine. When God is not speaking! Many times, we expect God to talk to us about certain situations but discover He does not speak. We pray and fast for Him to speak but He becomes silent. Why? God’s silence in different occasions means different things. In Exodus chapter 3:6-7, the Bible records: Also he said, I am the God of you’re your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face for he was afraid To look at God. And the lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people Who are in egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters and Oppressors; for I know their sorrows and sufferings and trials. The Israelites have been in these suffer-
ings for hundreds of years and God was silent. He did not say anything until Moses climbed mountain Horeb. There are times when you will be passing through certain situations and God will be silent. His silence means a lot for greatness. His silence means power and glory. If God could tell Moses that He had heard the cry of His people and seen their sorrows, do you think He does not know what you are passing through all these years. These people cried for hundreds of years and God just reacted one day. That long silence meant a preparation for Moses. God’s silence is an indication that his preparing someone for deliverance. There is a person God is packaging for you. Do not dream of two or three persons. Do not dream of multitude. God is only preparing one man or one woman for your upliftment; for your favour and for your deliverance. Do you know that these people cried for hundreds of years and God saw their affliction in one day? That long period of silence meant a long punishment for Pharaoh. One of the major reasons God had not spoken concerning that situation is that He is preparing the red sea to swallow every Pharaoh that is tormenting you. God is silent because Pharaoh has not done his worst. God is silent because He wants to kill pride and vain glory in you. God is silent because He wants to come into your situation when every human effort has failed. God wants to appear when medical doctors have failed and when lawyers have given up in that case. Do you know that God knows you are passing through pains? Do you know that God is aware you are being driven out of your house like in judges 11? Do you know that God’s time is the best? In john 11:20, 21 the Bible says: When Martha heard
nd David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. And David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken; and David rescued his two wives’, 1Sam 30:8, 18
There is nothing that you have lost to the enemy that you cannot recover if you follow divine prescription. As mentioned last week, the panacea for recovery is pursuit by divine instruction. When you pursue and eventually recover, one interesting thing is that you stand the chance of gaining more. “And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David’s spoil.” 1 Sam 30:20
that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him, while Mary remained sitting in the house: Martha then said to JESUS, master, If you had been here, my brother would not have died. Martha blamed Jesus for being late to their house. But God does not come late. It does not matter when God arrives at your house. Any time God comes, miracles must happen. Do not be worried when God seems to be silent. He is a Goldsmith and would not produce a gold without passing the metal through fire. If the metal is told that he is going to pass through fire, it will prefer remaining a metal to becoming gold. But no matter how horrible the fire may be, it will not consume you or hurt you. The Goldsmith does not pity the metal when he is passing it through fire. So, do not expect pity, because, you are not an object of pity but a creature of envy. God’s silence is a miracle-in-making. When God is silent, do not ask too many questions for He knows when to take you to your promised land. Continue to remind Him of the miracles He will perform. The two things you must not forget are that God’s silence means miracle for you and a punishment for your persecutors. •Write us if you are blessed through this piece or call or visit us Apostle Clement A. On the roadmap for recovery of that which you have lost, we already learnt that you must be specific about what you want to recover. In other words, you must be able to identify the area you need healing and restoration. Let us continue as we unveil the other things you need to know; Find out what is responsible for your initial loss (Hag 1:5-7): Make an inquiry into what caused the initial loss, is it through sin, carelessness, disobedience or pride. This will enable you to know how to guard what you have lost when you recover it. Your marriage, business, career and relationship were once fine but your apathy opened the door for the enemy. You need to ask yourself again, what is responsible for your loss? Could it be pride, adultery, drunkenness or even covetousness? Vashti lost her place before Ahasuerus due to her pride; if you fail to deal with the cause of your initial loss, even when you recover it, you are still bound to lose it and this time might not have a second chance. Find out what it will cost you to pursue: ‘For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it’ (Lk 14:28). You cannot invade the territory of a strong-
