working in sectors

like yours

To date our equipment and expertise has been used for solving problems primarily within the sectors outlined on this page – but we’re not restricted to or by these categories. These examples merely show some of the ways that equipment has and could be used. So if your problem doesn’t fit neatly into one of these areas, please get in touch and we may have what you’re looking for.

Biosensors The Biomedical Sensors Laboratory has a track record in electronic noses, developing the first commercial electronic nose in collaboration with Bass plc and Neotronics plc in the early 1990s.

Energy efficiency This includes power electronics, smart power grids, solar and thermal technologies, power and control systems, optical diagnostics of flow and combustion.

High Performance Computing High Performance Computing has a wide range of problemsolving capabilities, from science and engineering such as weather prediction, oil exploration and biochemistry, and now increasingly to business applications such as analysing increasing large volumes of customer data, monitoring real-time networks, modelling complex workflows and simulating product designs.

Life sciences This includes biotechnology – incorporating the food industry, agriculture sector and food testing – and biomedical sectors.

Materials Our use of and understanding of the properties of materials dominate our everyday lives, with materials engineering routinely applied in many divergent fields including packaging, transport and electronics. By improving the properties of materials and tailoring them especially for the application, performance and reliability are improved and costs reduced.

Mechanical This includes mechanical testing, the Vehicle Energy Facility, product evaluation technologies, environmental testing and the Institute of Digital Healthcare (IDH). Warwick Scientific Services
