CONTENTS THE 3CM DIFFERENCE OUR SCOPE IMPACT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM SCIENCE OF SELF LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT COACHING AND CONSULTING RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) FUNDING ADMISSION PROCEDURE

The 3cm Difference The 3cm name and symbol refer to our three cornerstones of management: The continuous cycle of Think, Innovate, Change is represented by the circular cycle of our logo. The hexagon is the strongest geometric shape in the world because its efficient and the least wasteful. This represents 3cm’s goal for our clients.

Think. Innovate. Change.

3cm applies innovative learning and consulting solutions in partnership with our clients, that support leadership and management growth, accomplish extraordinary

projects and provide a catalyst for organisational transformation to produce sustainable results. 3cm also believes that business performance can only be achieved through people performance. So, what does this mean in REAL terms? • 3cm’s professional development framework, structured process, use of 1:1 coaching and mentoring come together to improve transference of learning in the workplace. • Targeted macro credentials and workshops tailored to client needs, designed with action learning and outcome driven ROI to your organisation. • Execution of workplace projects aligned to the organisation’s strategic themes, making them practical and applied to the workplace; not just based on theory and textbook case studies. • Our focus is on delivering and measuring results, so that the return on investment (ROI) is verifiable evidence of learning and application of new skills, knowledge and attributes to senior management. • All participants, regardless of their position in the organisation, enjoy the action learning, coaching and assessment process at 3cm. • 3cm actively encourages people to take ownership of their own professional development. • 3cm Pty Limited (RTO # 0182) is qualified to run and provide accreditation for Nationally Recognised Training. By working with our Clients through the TNA (Training Needs Analysis) process; together we’ll identify the need and design the programme. Client’s may choose not to have a full national accredited course but rather, units of a full qualification which become a credit towards a full qualification at a later stage or the Client may prefer “Micro Credentials” that are specific to an identified need, person, Team or Organisational need. 3cm offers a range of innovative approaches to training and assessment, enabling clients to choose the approach that best suits their specific needs and situations. This range of options is available for all 3cm programs, whether leading to accredited qualifications or non-accredited customised courses.

Why we do what we do… 60% of Australian employees are disengaged at work. A further 16% are actively disengaged. Q.| What’s the cost to the economy of those actively disengaged? A.| $54.8 billion a year …how much is it costing your business? (from Gallup State of the Global Workplace Report 2013).

Impact Leadership

Adversity Quotient

Impact Leadership is the pinnacle for any organisation that is serious about its people, the work environment and future profitability. This program is all encompassing and all inspiring, combining Science of Self, National Qualifications and benchmark modeling of Action Learning, Application and Business EQ.

THE 70-20-10 ACTION LEARNING MODEL 70 % 20 % 10 %

of learning comes from real life on-the-job experiences, tasks and problem solving of learning comes from feedback, working with and observing role models from “traditional” training

This model is based on research done by Morgan McCall and the Centre for Creative Leadership. The % representation was designed as a weighting concept to demonstrate that you can’t have one without the other and some are more powerful than others. For example; if we take out workshops of group engagement and conceptualising, then workplace learning on its own will only achieve a onedimensional view of a task, problem or concept. It has always been acknowledged that practical application of anything is the strongest method of embedding a skill or knowledge, however, to accelerate this, people need quality coaching, mentoring and engagement from experienced skilled people. This model is implemented in 3cm’s learning experience through: 70 % Ongoing 6 – 24 months based on your tailored program. Workplace applied and workplace assessed. 20 % Ongoing Mentoring & Coaching and 10 % Engaging relevant Workshops from experienced people.

IMPACT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

1

WHAT IS THE PROCESS? STEP 1: Contact 3cm • • •

We come to you, no charge no obligation, for an initial consultation. This opportunity gives 3cm and your organisation open dialogue to identify the need and carry out some due diligence. 3cm will design a suggested Impact Leadership Program based on the initial consultation for you to consider. After consultation and agreement (this may require more than one consultation), a contract is accepted, and the program is implemented.

STEP 2: Consultation The organisations Lead Person is consulted with monthly, or as required, and kept up to date with the candidates and programs progress. This is also an opportunity to adjust for identified needs as we progress. 3cm’s learning and development is characterised by interactive project forums and or workshops, with group action learning and collaborative research that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Ideally, cohorts will be kept to a group of six to ten participants with a focus on hands on learning. Workplace projects are applied to real work-based activities, rather than theory and textbook for the summative assessment. 3cm training is organised to suit busy schedules and compacted to minimise time away from the workplace, which we understand is a major consideration when planning professional development.

STEP 3: Assessment Depending on the content of your Impact Leadership Program, assessment will be carried out. This could be assessment applicable to National Qualifications or assessment based on organisational requirements, or none.

STEP 4: Graduation Again, this will depend on the Leadership Program. This will also include an analysis of the program outcomes. It is the organisation’s decision to continue or end at this point. 3cm knows from experience and there is copious evidence to support that, training, mentoring and coaching never end. With this in mind, 3cm would recommend an ongoing mentoring and coaching process tailored to the organisation’s budget and needs. 3cm also acknowledges that candidates may have previous experience or qualifications that could award them credits for units of competence. For more information, get in touch with the 3cm team today.

STATE OF THE GLOBAL WORKPLACE SURVEY DETAILS? While the results were up for one company, the reality is there is still important work to be done when it comes to employee engagement, Gallup says. In their latest State of the Global Workplace report, 85% of employees are not engaged or actively disengaged at work. To be more specific, Gallup says 18% are actively disengaged at work, while 67% are not engaged at all. These individuals are not necessarily the worst performers at a company, but they are indifferent when it comes to their respective organisations. This translates to employees giving companies their time, but not the best version of their work. As a result, there are major financial consequences for businesses around the world; to the tune of $7 trillion in lost productivity. As a comparison, these are the percentages of employee engagement in 2017, based on data from the companies that participated in the Gallup survey:

Best companies in the world (70%) United States / Canada (31%)

Latin America (32%) Australia and New Zealand (14%) South Asia (28%)

Apple

Eastern Europe (15%) Post-Soviet States (18%) Middle East / North Africa (58%) Sub-Saharan Africa (14%)

East Asia (57%)

IMPACT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

1

INCREASING ENGAGEMENT Most modern companies lean on performance reviews to provide employees with feedback and an evaluation of their work. That is not what the changing workforce is looking for. Employees, specifically millennials, want more from their employers, things like purpose, opportunities to engage with each other and to develop their strengths. To a millennial, their ‘work’ life and their ‘personal’ life are interconnected and are both a part of their cumulative identity. That knowledge, coupled with the amount of money lost in productivity, is ample reason to change course and lean toward a desire to boost employee engagement.

In a recent survey, carried out by HR Exchange Network researchers asked, “How important is employee engagement to your organisation?” 79% of takers said it was very important. Diving deeper, respondents were asked to indicate how they were engaging with their employees. The top three vote getters were clear winners here: 1. Surveys 70.97 % 2. Social Platforms 46.77 % 3. Career Pathing 45.16 % All three technologies offer employers an opportunity to conduct ongoing conversations with employees. When getting these strategies right companies will see an increase in engagement and an impact on the bottom line. Again, we turn to Gallup’s data. According to their database, those in the top quartile of engagement see 10% higher customer metrics, 17% higher productivity, 20% higher sales and 21% higher profitability. Organisations at the top observe earnings per share growth that is more than four times that of their competitors.

CONSULTING

THE OVERALL FOCUS IS BUSINESS RESULTS By definition, consulting is a flexible, dynamic process that never repeats itself. 3cm 's consulting services helps organisations achieve business improvement and high performance. Drawing on research, highly rated diagnostic tools and experience, 3cm delivers insights and puts them into action. 3cm’s experienced facilitators and high-performance management consultants draw on a vast range of processes to identify key issues, customise a specific business solution and assist in efficient and effective implementation. Our performance improvement work is at the heart of what we do. Our FIVE step approach ensures clients achieve operational and leadership excellence. Typically, we start by using comprehensive business diagnostics to identify the key levers for improving performance in a given situation. For the key priorities to improve performance, we define specific goals and action plans. Then we use the most relevant resources for each action plan to deliver results. 3cm'S PROCESS There are FIVE unique steps in the consultation process, each of our defined solutions can be used individually if requested to achieve narrower outcomes, or used comprehensively to improve overall business objectives...each dimension underpinning those that follow: Step 1: ASSESSMENT (Diagnostic)

The first step is Assessment to diagnose and understand our clients' business challenges and opportunities, and identify the current issues and future levels of development required for each business unit, team and individual. Gain a detailed understanding of the procedures, systems and customer management, using online diagnostic tools, research, audit and training records. Gain a full appreciation of the issues and policy requirements; in order to advise the most appropriate approach.

Step 2: CONSULTING

The second step is to share our expertise in resolving the issues identified within the client business and the development of the appropriate training/education/systems and methodologies required for success. Interpret the data and information to fully understand the business dynamics and reasons behind the performance, and to identify areas of improvement. Integrated Action Planning to drive best practice action and improvements at all levels.

COACHING AND CONSULTING

2

CONSULTING

Step 3: TRAINING

The third step focuses on a couple of important areas, firstly on Learning and Development modules so that we increase the skills, knowledge and capabilities of participants. Secondly, the introduction of knowledge and methodologies selected to deliver the clients development/growth objectives by integrating business growth imperatives through workplace projects for each participant to achieve an ROI.

Step 4: COACHING

The on-the-Job follow up Coaching step is critical to ensure that the learning content is implemented and reinforced in the field and not left in the ‘classroom’. The Coaching cements the transition from ‘theoretical’ to ‘practical’ application of the newly acquired behaviours, knowledge and skills, and importantly secures your ROI. Work with management and staff in quality design and development to ensure recommendations are implemented effectively. Tracking and monitoring progress to keep the improvement process on track and address issues.

Step 5: ASSESSMENT (Summative)

This step measures results and performance by Re-assessing your Teams, Leaders and Managers level of capability, inspiration and engagement. This is achieved through a selection of either face-to-face Interview; on the job observations or demonstration; Science of Self testing; third party validations; competency based and/or work place projects. Assist performance, identify strengths and development opportunities, and recognise attained competencies. Develop further practical solutions and recommendations to enable the business and its Team to meet their future target objectives.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) FRESH MENTORING APPROACH TO SKILLS RECOGNITION (RPL) [old idea...new twist] A 3cm streamlined approach to Recognition of Prior Learning assessment is making it easier for people to gain formal qualification or units of competency. The recognition mentoring model involves the following process: OPTION 1 Stage 1: Stage 2: Stage 3: Stage 4: Stage 5:

Interview - initial consultation on phone or face to face and preliminary assessment with a 3cm assessor at no charge Discussion - of process plan, self-evaluation of skills and knowledge Collection of evidence - with the guidance of your 3cm mentor Review of your evidence - as collected and identification of any gaps At this stage there may be a need for the provision of further evidence. If not... Collation of your portfolio - for submission and final assessment Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate their skills and knowledge rather than submit a large amount of written evidence.

OPTION 2 Stage 1, 2, 3 & 4 = On the job observation and Q & A Assessment + Stage 5.

What is RPL? Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the term used to describe a number of assessment processes resulting in the formal recognition of competencies (skills, knowledge and attitudes) that a person has acquired through formal training, work experience and/or life experience. Like many people today, you may have worked your way up to the position you now hold. In doing this work, you have probably gained a great deal of competence as a manager, assessor or trainer but you may not hold any qualifications for these skills. This means it may be more difficult for you to demonstrate that you actually have these skills when going for a promotion, new job or satisfying compliance.

If this is the case, you need a way to get the qualifications you deserve without doing another training course.

Who is it for? RPL is for experienced people seeking qualifications for the management and/or training and assessment competence they already have and for anyone who facilitates, trains or assesses competencies.

How do I know if it is for me? If… • •

You are already a competent manager or trainer or have a safety role You have experience as a manager or trainer or a safety officer

• •

You would like to earn the qualifications, or You would like to help guide others through the process …Then the 3cm RPL is for you.

What Qualifications can I get? 3cm 's Recognition of Prior Learning programme can be used to gain any of the VET qualifications or units of competency 3cm promotes.

Mutual Recognition 3cm recognises qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations under the Australian Qualifications Framework. If the skills and knowledge are gained through accredited training, a process of Mutual Recognition will be applied. You will need to supply a certified copy of your Statement of Attainment before any relevant competencies are recognised.

Initial Fees and Evaluation The initial consultation will be a discussion based around: • • Your experiences and the Qualification. • • Recognition you are planning to achieve.

Evaluation of the likelihood of gaining RPL. And an overview of the process to be undertaken.

The RPL process can cover any qualification that is listed under the Australian Qualifications Framework that is Certificate I to Advanced Diplomas provided by Registered Training Organisations.

Portfolio Development 3cm RPL mentoring is a service that aids people through the RPL process. This involves the development of an evidence plan and the provision of a mentor coach for the process. The Fee covers consultation, review and design of evidence templates and Third-Party Reports and compilation of your portfolio. (Fees apply, please call us for details)

Terms and Conditions 1. The Fee for the Portfolio Development includes access to four individual mentoring meetings and unlimited phone/email collaboration for a 12-month period. 2. There is no refund once the Portfolio has been commenced. 3. The service is not transferable to other people.

What should I do now? To determine your eligibility for 3cm 's Recognition of Prior Learning programme you will need to: Step 1: Make an appointment with a 3cm Assessor Step 2: Refer to the learning outcomes of the specific modules If you think your competence matches the learning outcomes, contact us to request a meeting for a Recognition of Prior Learning assessment.
