Manchester Orchestra Manchester Orchestra is an indierock band formed in Atlanta in 2005, just shortly after the members graduated high school. Named after the city in England and an interest in a solo project (by Andy Hull) that would feature guest appearances from friends on albums, (thus “orchestrated”) the band was born. The band is often compared to having a similar narrative style to bands like the Weakerthans and Death Cab for Cutie. The band consists of members, Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, keyboardist and percussionist Chris Freeman, bassist Jonathan Corley and, drummer Len Clark.

With 2 albums under their belts and the third to be released in early 2011, it is quite amazing to see a young band have such huge successes in just a short amount of time. The band recently had the opportunity to play with music giants Kings of Leon at Madison Square Garden. The band’s music has already been featured on television shows like Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and 90210, while the band has performed on Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’ Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Manchester Orchestra is currently on tour and readers can see them perform live in Atlanta at Centerstage on November 24th. For more info visit the band’s website:
