About The three books that inspire me on the road of learning architecture are "The visible and the invisible Taipei", "Heterogeneous Taipei" and "Discipline and Punish..The Birth of Prison". It made me realize how space created andizhou by societies and authorities. I am interested in kinds of heterotopia and keep finding how our profession can react to our enviroment.

自認建築設計受到三本書的啟蒙「看得見與 看不見的台北」、「同居台北」、「規訓 與懲罰」,這三本書讓我對於使用者、權力 者等潛規則如何形塑我們的城市有深刻的認 識,我對每個城市各種軟性介面非常有興 趣,建築設計專業應該如何對應人民使用, 想要找出一種能夠回應城市的開放式系統。

01 Setting City How the power influence our city? Before technology of precise mapping, People build their place by themselves. However, after that, public space gradually resort to judging of data of urban planning. There are kinds of soft interface in Ximending which make public both generous and greedy. When all of these s" etting of city" not only serve for occupation of commerce but comes to promptly scenes that created by people to change our public space. How will our city become?

權力是如何介入我的城市呢 ? 過去的人透過自己的 力量打造地方,但精準的地圖技術出現之後,開放 空間慢慢地交付給了都市計畫地平均值。 西門町中充斥著各種軟性的介面,將公共的定義變 得慷慨大方又天真自私,當這些城市的景片不再只 是小販的無端佔據,而是大眾共同參與且快速介入 的「景片」,我們的城市又會變得怎麼樣呢 ?

Issue

-Process of Public Space Public space used to express faith of people or used to promote authority. In the contemporary, public space has been existing for management. In order to let people been inspected. People started noticed their every movement in public space which made it be administrated by private. It turned into gated communities and discriminated other as danger. Nevertheless, public space turn into surplus of commercial space. The Glamorous interior just design for specific group.It seems more safe to manage our city. However, homogeneity make our city become boring, as well as, the known danger becomes unknown fear.

過去的公共空間是用來彰顯信仰與權威,但在當代,公共空間是為了管理公眾,人們開始會注意他們 在公共空間的一舉一動,並且恐懼著他們不了解的使用者,這些管理變成了爾後門禁社區的原型,公 共空間不再屬於無差別的公共,甚至慢慢變成了消費空間的剩餘,這些對於陌生的恐懼並沒有讓城市 變得更加安全,而指使將已知的恐懼轉變成了未知的危險。

-Site: Ximending Technology of mapping lead to connection of "Three block" into "A complete Taipei". Ximending is a laboratory of urban planning that with radial and hierarchical road. Due to the end of War, it came to occupation of crowd of people and turn into a heterotopia place. With demolishing of ChungHua Market ,intervening of boulevard and Commercial management, make it looks like a homogeneous commercial place. However, every kinds of people there can find their own way to describe their Ximending.

測量與製圖技術縫合「三個市街」成了「一個台北」,西門 町早期是都市計畫的實驗場,有放射狀的道路系統以及各式 的街道層級,國民政府來台之後空間不斷的被佔據,西門町 也成了具有地方特性的異質空間,但隨著中華商場拆除、林 蔭大道介入、徒步區被商業管理,西門町也慢慢僅剩均質的 商業,但在層層力量消長之下,不同族群卻用各種不同的方 式詮釋他們的西門町。

Site Observation In order to extend territory of commerce, people occupied public space by street furniture. The skin of Ximending separate from the space of the building. It deliberately tend to create an atmosphere of business. The appearance promptly changed, but facility of building started getting old which lead habitation mix with idle space. Temporary objects are stacked in the space that disregard with locals’ living and people expend their territory to public space. Street turn into infrastructure of dealing garbage after tourist depart.

空間的表皮快速分離了既有的空間,這些房子 被商業劃分,表皮在 50 年間快速更迭,但內部 的管線設備卻漸漸老舊,導致居住空間與閒置 空間並置的狀態。 臨時性的物件與居民的生活空間彼此消長而佔 據著,而公共空間在遊客離開之後成為了支應 西門町的基礎設施。

The abundance of Ximending is based on the variety of temporary objects. Material in Ximending replace in different periods.Come with metabolism of commerce, unexcept incidents, celebrations and common public furniture. If these objects could become crowd sourcing that subscribers our public space and support infrastructure instraint? Try ultilizing these object for public space by reusing, discussing , assembling and testing them. It will create a new kind of publicity and more program of public space.

西門町的豐富不是因為既有的建築,而是那些被視 為毒瘤的、各種臨時性的物件,他們在眾聲嘈雜之 下合奏的街道景觀。那些臨時性的物件隨著兩個月 左右商家汰換週期、不定期的突發事件、嘉年華介 入,常態的公共家具更迭。 那會不會因為群眾意志將那些軟性材料轉變成快速 改變都市的景片,代謝缺乏的基礎設施。人們可以 透過回收既有的那些材料,討論、設計,改造既有 的物件,最後在人潮湧入前夕進行組裝,然後在一 定的週期代謝後再送回空間測試與修正。不斷代謝, 讓都市變成豐富的景片城市。


Site

The site is located at Ximending Movie Park where is the terminal point of Wu-Chun Street in working area of Ximending. I place a structure to supply electricity and service space so that flexible venue can be hanging on it. There are labortory of facade that react the scale of street, studio for those objects to be created and type of setting factory. Objects deliver to here to dismantle and reorganization before testing. After that ultilize them for public space before rectifing them. These objects are fluent through the gap or meta structure. Ximending will become a labortory of public space and immediately change their appearance by these tiny interventions.

基地位在西門徒步區的武昌街末端,我在這裡放置 了一個大型的骨骼框架,支應著電力、管線以及服 務動線,在將量體依模仿街道尺度的框架吊入,因 此框架與景片的生產空間敞生了一部分的緩衝層, 任何公眾已將他們的景片送來這裡重新組裝拆解, 並透過框架之間的孔隙滲透到都市。 西門町會變成了都市空間的實驗場,不斷透過這些 微小的介入改變公共空間的狀態。

Wen meng Lou is a well-known public prostitution since the end of Qing. After dynasty changing, it go through public prostitution ablished and be telling the story of prostitutes. It was already threatened by Capitalism and stigma of neighborhood. Sex workers are suffering from depriving skill to live, stigma of others and profit of urban renew. How should authority intervene kinds of these ideology. Apart from safe preservation or urban renew that ruin the context. building. ever intervening of authority and reinterpreting the symbol of authoritical place, everyone can join the procedure of policy and publicize their ideology.

位於歸綏街的文萌樓是清末著名的公娼館,隨著改朝換代、廢除公娼, 文萌樓現今已經轉型城故事館,傳頌著老公娼的故事,然而如今卻又 面臨投資客炒作古蹟的考驗。

2016 Winter Project

在文萌樓的性工作者面對生存權被剝奪、眾人的汙名、都市更新的虎 視眈眈。除了一味的追求復舊、任其逐漸凋零,或全面翻新的都市更 新,公權力做出了宣言,透過將容積交換,讓公家機關的 Program 介 入,並重新詮釋空間的意符與介面,讓不對等的各方能夠在公民的地 景持續的發聲。

Early nearby commercial development. Commercial activity of Chongqing N. Rd Street into the Guisui Street. It come with promoting of prostitude, jewelry store, salons and the other industries.

隨著開港通商,帶動了大稻埕附近的發展, 形成仕紳政治,而娛樂產業崛起,以重慶北 路上的江山樓、到歸綏街的文萌樓,都是當 時著名的性產業聚落

Since east district thriving and urban planning, Guisui Street have been at low ebb gradually.

隨著台北市產業結構轉移與市區改正,大稻 埕西側也逐漸沒落,對比周遭延平北路、重 慶北路、保安街、民生西路。歸綏街逐漸沒 落

There are some buildings raised after abolishing public prostitution. Industry cluster there fade away gradually. It has been included part of urban renew.

廢除公娼後,文萌樓對面興起集合住宅,斷 裂原本的性產業聚落。文萌樓也畫進了都更 區

Many prostitutes have lost their viability and have developed many activity which to fight for right of prostitution. In order to create a society which seems moral,violence of public power deprived some specific groups.

許多公娼阿姨失去了生存能力,也興起了許 多妓權運動。是公權力對部分族群的暴力, 只為了達到看似道德的無菌社會

Investors had bought the historic building so that to get the profit of bulk reward for urban renewal and tried to expel the group called Collective of Sex Workers and Supporters.

投機客買下了古蹟,覬覦古蹟的容積獎勵, 並且試圖驅趕在此地的日日春協會 古蹟以外之容積 獎勵

Program and Strategy 01 Exchange the capabilicy of public space to release profit to investor so that historical building can be preserved. 02. Let public program intervene to make the juxtaposition of scorned prostitute and trusted police. 03. Incise the space from the mass to create a huge vacant space to play the role of buffer space of different programs. 01 交換既有公有地的容積,將利益釋放給投資客,藉此保留原本街區的 特定古蹟。 02 公共 Program 的介入,讓長期受到當地居民輕視的公娼,與受到居 民信任的警察,並置在原本的街廓 03 從量體切割出虛的空間,做為對立的幾種空間之間的緩衝帶,並置入 政策形成討論的空間,在此展示出不同意見的聲音。

Prison bars is the interface that both escaping and connecting outside. There is a contradiction among the relationship of residents, polices and prostitute. Trying to transform the metaphor of prison bars into facade. To create different kinds of activities and hierarchy of visibility through different slope, midst, material.

鐵窗是以躲避警察的追緝,又試圖與外界連結的界面, 居民、警察、公娼形成三者矛盾的對峙關係,試圖將其 轉化成皮層,並透過不同斜率、深度、中介的材質創造 不同的可見度與活動。

03 Single Vertical Farming Apartment Taipei is a city where for lingering. Its convenice transportation make us not rely local society to survive. Nonetheless, we had lost the protection of traditional family. There goes a information in Ambrigio's drawing "Allegory of good government" that if city look after country and country will look after city.

台北是個旅居的都市,方便的交通讓我們不再依賴地緣而生活,人們 開始嚮往隨波逐流,但也隨之失去傳統家庭的保障。 Ambrigio 曾在好政府的預言中提到「當城市開始照顧田園,田園就會 回饋給城市」。 回應林森北路的住宅模式,客群以單身公寓派的簡約住宅為主,將綠 的運作轉化為經濟上的保險機制,也作為集合住宅的都市景觀,透過 數位工具的判斷,試圖創造垂直農場的日照量與景觀最大化。農場公 寓在學區與都市之間切了一道模糊的綠色邊界,這堵綠牆創造了新的 租賃模式,也回應周遭學區的新生活想像。

Site is located at Xinxin market on the Linsen North Road where surrounded by the feasting place. Therefore, the resident types surrounding there are single apartment-style suites. Because of the surrounding commerce, close to many traffic nodes, adjacent to the open area of the school district, this base is mixed between different users. It have the opportunity as a buffer zone of school district, business district and residential area. 基地位在林森北路新興市場舊址,鄰近的 地區一直被視為鶯鶯燕燕的場所,也因此 周遭的房型都是單身公寓型的套房,來到 周遭都是暫時旅居的租客。 因為周遭的商業行為、鄰近許多交通節 點、鄰接學區的開放空間,這塊基地被夾 雜在不同使用者之間,有機會作為學區、 商業區、住宅區之間的緩衝地帶。

The single apartment are placed 一個人的老後 the device 垂直農場of urban farming. Through the high productivity of vertical farming, it was in charged to the 150 resident to keep it working. Therefore, the profit will regard as an assurance for those who single but disable. Meanwhile, it would be a kind of landscape to rectify the bad enviroment of single suites. Argiculture

04 H o u s i n g f o r Fo r g e t t i n g Form follows function. However, what's function of emotion. Through the novel "The First Forgotten Man". The protagonist is the first person to be forgotten, the memory of the mother slowly disappeared due to alzheimer. The fear to forget, anger for lossing of sense of place. Until the immediate family turned into strangers, and the distance between the each other became near both far away. How to maintain the relationship between each other. If going to nursing home is inevitable. I would like to create a living space for those who are suffering forgetting. Let people who love them to adapt and miss. 型隨機能,那甚麼又是情緒的機能呢,以「第一個被遺忘的人」這本 小說做為文本,主角是他媽媽第一個遺忘的人,母親的記憶因為阿茲 海默一點一點從現實抽離,經歷了忘記的恐懼,喪失的地方感,慢慢 接受自己的愛人變成了陌生人,與家人之間的距離變得熟悉又陌生。

如果接受安養是不可避免地,我想要創造一個棲居的空間,讓人慢慢 遺忘,也讓愛他們的,去接受,去想念。

How alzheimer happened? The first six month, I am more easy to be wrong in mundane. Many behavior are more repeatly. When knowing that I would be losing the sense of time, how should I remember myself? I reject to forget and want to remember all the thing whether it is good or bad.When I realized people around are turn into stranger. I knew I will disappear . What should I leave for? I renounced to struggle and just feel tired and trance. I had start cherishing rest of my life. Ximending will become a labortory of public space and immediately change their appearance by these tiny interventions.

Through link remarkable node around the site to create a tiny living area. With zooming floor create a vertical and continuous landscape. Moreover, to eliminate the feeling of institution. 透過串聯基地周遭容易辨識的生活節點,形成一個 小型的生活圈,將景觀透過樓板的對應周遭環境縮 放,創造垂直化連續的地景,也讓空間去機構化。

Due to busy life and growed technology, we are prefer to live alone. We are attending for a society that family, neighborhood and social relationship would not be work. Since that, living with stranger maybe would be a mature choice. So I relink the shatterd social relationship to create a more complete relationship.

生活的忙碌、科技的進步,我們越來越傾向離群索居,漸漸步入對血 緣、地緣、社緣失去熱忱的無緣社會,既然傳統的生活關係不再發揮 作用,與陌生人共同生活會是成熟社會的新選擇,因此我將這些支離 破碎的社會關係重新串連,創造更完整的社會關係。

During the day, parent or parents go out to work. Children ran to coliving platform and doing morning exercises with elders.Some elder are busy for helping farm irrigation. And the neighbor's aunt is also prepared breakfast for everyone.

白天了,家人外出工作, 小朋友們跑到 半公共的平台,和老人家一起做早操, 一些老人忙著幫農園澆灌,而鄰居的阿 姨也正為大家準備著早餐

Finally cooked breakfast. Everyone moved tables and chairs to co-living space and ate breakfast together. Elderly neighbor off the freshly planted vegetables to appreciate.

早餐一煮好, 大家搬出桌椅便在外頭一 起吃飯,隔壁的阿伯也摘下他收成的菜 當作謝禮

The grand staircase links co-living space and private space. We can also read in the grand staircase and see what people is doing now.

連接家裡和生活的大平台的是可以當 作書櫃的大樓梯,也可以從公共空間 的縫隙清楚的看到大家都在做些甚 麼。

These co-living space are linked each other. Children can play in there.

這些空間也彼此串聯,就像立體化的 街道一般 小孩在其中玩耍
