2solve Diagnosis Engine The 2solve Diagnosis Engine provides partners and vendors with an existing OSS (Operation Support System) access to automation technology with a minimum of integration investment. 2solve Diagnosis Engine offers the necessary functionality for performing automated diagnostics through a SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) based interface. Existing OSS platforms may now easily obtain troubleshooting process automation capabilities by utilizing the core engine behind the 2solve Troubleshooting Suite. A Web Service API (Application Programming Interface) provides the necessary toolbox to extend your offering with a fully automated troubleshooting feature based on advanced decision support technology.

Solution Overview The 2solve Diagnosis Engine enables external applications to utilize the core functionality of the 2solve system by exposing a web service interface. The diagram below shows how external applications obtain capabilities of automated diagnostics from the 2solve Diagnosis Engine. The Web Service offers a powerful yet simple API for manipulating models, calculating diagnoses and training models with obtained evidence.

Implementation The 2solve Diagnosis Engine is easily integrated and deployed with any partner system. Standard models for GSM and UMTS networks are provided by 2operate and these may be customized and extended according to needs – with or without support from 2operate consultants. The standard or customized models may later learn from solved cases and calibrate to produce more accurate calculations. The 2solve Diagnosis Engine is the core of 2operate’s own troubleshooting product, 2solve Troubleshooting Suite.

Technology The 2solve Diagnosis Engine employs Bayesian network technology to calculate the most likely faults (a diagnosis) from a series of KPI (Key Performance Indicator ) readings. Bayesian networks technology was originally developed for medical diagnostic purposes, and compared to alternative technologies, it is very resilient to missing or wrong data and the underlying model is able to learn from existing evidence sets giving future calculations greater accuracy.
