2 Corinthians 13 GOD'S WORD® Translation
Paul Is Warning The Corinthians He Will Not Spare To Call Out The Accusers And Witnesses 1. 1This is the third time that I'll be visiting you. 2. Every accusation must be verified by two or three witnesses. 3. 2I already warned you when I was with you the second time, 4. and even though I'm not there now, I'm warning you again. 5. When I visit you again, I won't spare you. 6. That goes for all those who formerly led sinful lives as well as for all the others. [Paul is warning them to Repent and move away from sinful lives and ways.]
Paul Explains How Christ Works Through Others In Weaknesses 1. 3Since you want proof that Christ is speaking through me, that's what you'll get. 2. Christ isn't weak in dealing with you. Instead, He makes His power felt among you. 3. 4He was weak when He was crucified, but by God's power He lives. 4. We are weak with Him, but by God's power we will live for you with His help. [Wow! Amazing how God’s power works through us, especially when we are weak. We need to be one with Him at all times. This is where we need to repent and move away from sin so He can be with us.]
Paul Reminds The Church That They Will Be Tested And To Do What Is Right 5Examine yourselves to see whether you are still in the Christian faith. Test yourselves! Don't you recognize that you are people i n whom Jesus Christ lives? Could it be that you're failing the test? 6I hope that you will realize that we haven't failed the test. 7We pray to God that you won't do anything wrong. It's not that we want to prove that we've passed the test. 6. Rather, we want you to do whatever is right, even if we seem to have failed. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Paul Says He Is Here To Help With Truth Not To Judge With His Authority 1. 8We can't do anything against the Truth but only to help the Truth. 2. 9We're glad when we are weak and you are strong. We are also praying for your improvement. 3. 10That's why I'm writing this letter while I'm not with you. When I am with you I don't want to be harsh by using the authority that the Lord gave me. 4. The Lord gave us this authority to help you, not to hurt you. [Do as the Apostle Paul did and “Help” others learn and know the Truth of Jesus Christ. Know your audience so you are not harsh when you do not need to be.]
Paul Says Farewell In Attitude And Peace 11With that, brothers and sisters, I must say 1. goodbye. 2. Make sure that you improve. 3. Accept my encouragement. 4. Share the same attitude and live in peace. 5. The God of love and peace will be with you. 6. 12Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13All of God's holy people greet you. 7. 14May the Lord Jesus Christ's good will, God's love, and the Holy Spirit's presence be with all of you!
