Blanket Blanket America Distributing Patchwork Heritage Collection to Leading Retailers on December 23rd Just In Time for Christmas Blankets Leading Retailers Unite with Blanket America to Help the Poor, but More Support is Needed. (1888PressRelease) December 09, 2009 Beginning in midJanuary, the much anticipated Blanket America Patchwork Heritage Collection will become available to the public. The project is the brainchild of a Manhattan bed, bath and window covering design business owner named Mesh Gelman. During President Obama's inaugural address on the night of Januaury 20, 2009, Gelman was struck with inspiration. With the words, "our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness" Gelman latched on to an idea and the Patchwork Heritage Quilt was born. The patches of this quilt are cut from 13 different fabrics to represent the 13 colonies. Each patch is lovingly sewn together out of a desire for unity and profound respect of country, freedom and fellow man. Commemorating the historic and inspirational words of our president, the back of the quilt is printed with the entire Presidential inaugural address on a background featuring the lovely lady liberty. Though America has a centuries old tradition of commemorative blankets, never before has such a strong statement of unity and political support been made through a quilt. The Blanket America Collection makes an incredibly attractive package to retailers and consumers. The quilt's packaging, which features shades of red, white and blue, is designed to make large displays look like patchwork quilts, adding even more symbolism to this collection. The Patchwork Heritage quilt, shams and decorative pillows are all stylishly crafted and cleverly designed, ensuring high visibility and sales. Because their goal is so auspicious, Blanket America has partnered with Gifts in Kind International to make this project a reality. Gifts in Kind International works with half the Fortune 100 companies, which has helped to generate a lot of positive word of mouth for the project. Thanks to the support of such a wonderful organization, JC Pennies has agreed to carry the collection in its stores nationwide by midJanuary. Amazon.com will also make the collection available to the public. But more support is needed. Blanket America's new connections with retailers, including JC Pennies and Amazon.com, are making a strong statement for the future success of this project. Blanket America hopes to make as many new connections with retailers as possible in order to support this new project. Blanket America is appreciative of J.C. Penney's and Amazon.com's support of their mission and expects other retailers, whether big or small, to follow their lead. To get involved, visit http://www.blanketamerica.com.
