Air conditioning system (optional)

This section describes the inspection and maintenance work to be carried out by the machine operator. In addition, work on the air conditioning system requires specialised knowledge and special tools, and should therefore only be carried out by qualified personnel. In this case, call a workshop that specialises in air conditioning systems. For your own safety, please pay attention to the following instructions: Do not reach inside the equipment and do not insert any objects. Switch off the engine and allow it to cool down before carrying out maintenance work. Disconnect the fan from the power supply, to prevent injuries caused by the fan being switched on accidentally. Some parts of the air conditioning system (for example, heat exchanger and heating resistor on the fan) may still be hot after switching off. Risk of burns. Allow these to cool before opening up the equipment.

WHEN WORKING ON THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (FOR QUALIFIED PERSONNEL): The refrigerant used (R134a) is known as a safety refrigerant. This means that it is non-combustible, non-explosive, non-toxic, non-irritant, odourless and tasteless. Nevertheless, please note the following points: Avoid contact with flowing refrigerant. Chill blains may be occur on skin that has come into contact with refrigerant. Wear safety goggles to protect the eyes. If refrigerant still gets into the eyes, seek medical assistance immediately. Before carrying out repairs to the air conditioning system, drain the system. Do not allow refrigerant to leak out into the environment. Use only approved siphoning equipment. Welding work should not, in any circumstances, be carried out on parts of the sealed system, or in the area immediately surrounding it. Whether the system is full of refrigerant or not, heating it will cause a very high overpressure, which may cause damage to the system or even cause it to explode. Refrigerant containers should not be thrown and, when full, should not be left exposed for long periods to direct sunlight or other heat sources. The temperature of a filled refrigerant container should not be allowed to go above 45 °C. It is essential to keep chlorine, chlorine-containing materials, oils and grease out of the refrigerant system. The draining/filling equipment should be used only for R134a.
