BRAKE LEVER ADJUSTMENT (VX700DX/SX700/VT700)/ BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION

BRAKE LEVER ADJUSTMENT (VX700DX/SX700/VT700) 1. Adjust: • Brake lever position (distance from the grip to the brake lever) Adjustment steps: • Loosen the locknut 1. • While lightly pushing the brake lever in direction a, turn the adjusting bolt 2 by fingers to set the brake lever to the desired position. • Tighten the locknut securely after adjusting.

BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION 1. Place the machine on a level surface. 2. Check: • Fluid level Fluid level is under the “LOWER” level line a → Fill to the proper level. Recommended brake fluid: DOT 4 SCH2520

NOTE: For a correct reading of the brake fluid level, make sure that the top of the handlebar brake master cylinder reservoir is horizontal.

CAUTION: Brake fluid may corrode painted surfaces or plastic parts. Always clean up spilled fluid immediately.

fluids may deteriorate the rubber seals, causing leakage and poor brake performance. Refill with the same type of fluid. Mixing fluids may result in a harmful chemical reaction leading to poor brake performance. When refilling, be careful that water does not enter the brake master cylinder reservoir.
