Removing And Replacing Hydraulic / Hydrostatic Filter

Removing And Replacing Hydraulic Fluid See the SERVICE SCHEDULE for the service interval. (See SERVICE SCHEDULE on Page 10-70-1.) Replace the fluid if it becomes contaminated or after major repair.

Open the rear door. Figure 10-120-4

Always replace the hydraulic / hydrostatic filter, the hydraulic case drain filters and the hydraulic charge filter whenever the hydraulic fluid is replaced. (See Removing And Replacing Hydraulic / Hydrostatic Filter on Page 10120-2.) Open the rear door and remove the fill cap. 1

Remove the filter element (Item 1) [Figure 10-120-4]. Clean the surface of the filter housing where the filter seal contacts the housing. P-24751

Put clean oil on the seal of the new filter element.

Raise the cab. (See Raising on Page 10-30-2.)

Install and hand tighten the filter element.

Remove the plug from the top of the reservoir (Item 1) [Figure 10-120-3]. Pump the fluid out of the reservoir and into a container. Recycle or dispose of the environmentally safe manner.

Close the rear door before operating the loader. Start the engine and operate the loader hydraulic controls.

Stop the engine and check for leaks at the filter. Lower the cab. (See Lowering on Page 10-30-3.) Add the correct fluid to the reservoir until the fluid level is at the center of the sight gauge. (See Checking And Adding Fluid on Page 10-30-1.)

Check the fluid level in the reservoir and add as needed. (See Checking And Adding Fluid on Page 10-30-1.)
