Partnership working • Working with Alliance Homes and a group of youths on the Bournville on a Coniston Park project • Joined up approach with BID, Poundland & Weston College to get students to paint/spray the run down alleyway • Soon to set up ‘allotment watch’ also on the Bournville after a recent spate of thefts from sheds – alongside local authority • ‘Safe Places’ scheme to be officially launched soon, with WH Smith the first premise to sign up • Innovation Fund bid accepted, work will soon commence on a partnership App for mobile devices which will aid service to the public • One year in and the Gateway project has proven to be a success

ASB in the Night Time Economy •Traffic Light system recently introduced to manage licensed premises in the area •Pubwatch is soon to be enhanced •Regent St & Oxford St remain our most challenging areas •Newquay has some excellent working practices which we hope to learn from •Purple Flag ethos is the aspiration for Weston town centre

NS public issue – Road Traffic matters •Identified as an issue via PCC public consultation •No Civilian Parking Enforcement within NSC, but Police taking positive action •Speed Watch is very healthy across NS with a number of well run schemes •Specific vehicle related ASB relating to Portishead and on the seafront at Weston have been tackled successfully in conjunction with NSC, key businesses and via the Operation Tonic.

Bournville One • The Bournville estate is the 5th busiest in the Force • It’s time to bolster how we provide policing to the community The aims • Develop partnership working amongst statutory and voluntary agencies to effect greater influence in the allocation of services on the estate • Raise trust and confidence amongst the community and raise resident participation in community matters • Reduce the number of reported incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour • Raise trust regarding the reporting and investigation of domestic abuse • Reduce incidents of youth crime through engagement and diversion • Improve community confidence through improved policing services What next? • Ensure we link in with High Impact Families scheme is essential • Recruitment of a Sergeant to oversee the project
