長久以來,鐵路是台灣重要的運輸方式之一,然而道班工的使命,就是讓這些具有 百年歷史的鐵道,透過完善的維護及保養,得以讓乘客持續安全的使用。 For a long time, railway is one of Taiwan's most important transportation, however the mission of this workers is to make these centuries-old railways allow passengers to continue to use them safely., through their perfect protection.

How do they work?

Working All Day Long !

「查道」是道班工一週中最重要的開始, 白天裡沿著軌道步行巡視,檢查軌道兩旁,將有 疑慮或材料磨損的部分記錄下來並且向上通報, 且在未來一週裡完成修復。

夜間作業時間為火車停駛後,第一班火車行駛前,為大 夜班工作,有時工作量大,或人力不足時,需要與時間 賽跑。

The most important start of the week for them is to walkalong the railway and check the sides of it, record the suspicious parts and report up, using rest of week to finish the repairment.

Workers’ night work time is after the train is suspended, sometimes heavy workload, or manpower shortage, they need to race with time, however, lack of lighting makes them hard to work at midnight


Observation 為了更貼近這個職業,做了實際訪問及實地觀察工作情況, 得知現今鐵路維修員其實相當辛苦,由於資源、資金及人 力缺乏,加上政策改變,導致工人們在作業時更加困難, 而維護軌道必要的工作項目相當多,夜間工作的照明僅有 頭燈、手電筒及一旁的燈管,實在有限。

In order to be closer to this career, I have made actual visits and field observations.I learned that railway maintenance are actually laborious ,due to resources, funds and lack of manpower coupled with policy changes have make their work more difficult,There are quite a number of work items for maintaining the railway, however, the night work lighting only get from headlights, flashlights and the side of the tube, the light supply is insufficient for a long time.

大夜班的工作導致照明功能也需要由人力負擔, 然而作業於隧道內或鐵軌上,常需要使用高危 險機具,照明不足易發生危險,且因行走於石鉔 上,一不小心易失足受傷。 The operation in the tunnel or rail, often require the use of high-riskmachinery, because of the lack of lighting, it’s hard to work at midnight, and due to walking in stone they get injured by accident very often.

政策改變

Change policy

由於制度上的改變,查 道作業需要調整 到半夜工作,但因缺乏 相對應機具,且 照明不亮的問題仍存在 ,易增加作業上 的困難及危險。 Due to institutional changes, checking the track need to be adjusted to work at midnight,because of the lack of corresponding equipment, and the lighting problem still exists, all these increase workers difficulties and dangers.

在夜間查道時能藉著原有的工具使力, 結合照明功能改善光線不足,減輕人力不足時作業上的負擔 Design a auxiliary tools, through the way they use hammer to make it go forward , and the lighting function can improve the lack of light, reduce the labor shortage to increase the quality of work

鐵路維護工程裡有其他 輔具設計幫助維修 員們,因此分析研究現 有輔具們,如何結 合工具及人體關係,以 達到事半功倍的效果 There are other aids designed to help workers in railway maintenance projects,Therefore, I analyze existing aids, how to combine tools and people , in order to achieve a multiplier effect


lighting & battery 道班工們僅會在夜間工 作時使用,因此選用充 電式電 瓶供電,而一天工作時 數約六到七小時,一般 常用電 瓶即可

Workers only used it when working at night, so I choose rechargeable battery, and working hours a day is about six to seven hours, so the battery commonly used is affordable

EASY FOR TWO PEOPLE CARRY 80%材質選用塑膠製成,結構支撐部份為金屬,整體重量較輕,前後兩側把手便於道班工們搬運 80% made of plastic, the structure of the support part of use metal, the overall weight handles is light, and rear handles to facilitate road workers to carry on both sides.
