FIVB Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic The seed of Beach Volleyball continue to spread around NORCECA

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, October 19, 2010 – Coaches from 12 countries took part in a Beach Volleyball Course at the FIVB Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic that concluded on Monday. The course under the direction of FIVB Instructor Hayden Jones, focused not only in the development of the skills for the game but also on how to develop a beach volleyball program at the grass-root level. The participants came from Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Montserrat, Nicaragua, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, USA and U.S. Virgin Islands. “They were very enthusiastic and displayed strong desire to increase their knowledge of the game,” Jones commented. “Now they can coach and develop the sport in their respective countries.” Jones explained that the instructions were “half theory and half practice” and praised the staff of the Development Center and NORCECA Confederation. “They did a fantastic job with the organization of the course,” he said. “They were well prepared and help me to ensure the course was successful.”
