The complex global situation and continuous fluctuations within these systems demand a new understanding and repositioning of the field. The contributions aim to respond to issues such as the failing economic and political systems worldwide, growing discontent with capitalism, unemployment, social injustice, and social media empowerment, if the discipline is to remain relevant and involved in the remaking of these structures.
