Tic Tac Low Players write numbers in a grid and add them in different directions to end up with the lowest score. Age Range: 7 to 8 Skill Used: addition Number of Players: 2 to 4 Noise Level: low Activity Level: low Materials: die, individual Tic Tac Low grids

Setup Make a copy of the Tic Tac Low grid shown for each player or allow players to draw their own grids.

Play continues in the same manner until each player has rolled the die nine times and all of the unshaded squares are filled. Players proceed to cross out any duplicate numbers until only unique numbers are left on each grid. The remaining numbers are added horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. Those sums are added and recorded in the shaded squares. The player with the lowest number is named the winner.

Variation Change the winner to the one having the

highest number at the end.

How to Play Players take turns rolling a die. The first player writes the number appearing on the roll of the die in any open unshaded spot on his or her Tic Tac Low grid. The die is passed to the next player who rolls and writes that number on his or her grid.
