Due to personal circumstances, the PR face of AALO throughout 2012 has been very quiet, leading some to understandably wonder if we'd given up on XS422 … not a hint of it. We chose not to attend any Airshows in 2012, instead concentrating on other PR Projects behind the scenes; Andrew Brodie has been doing sterling work publicising our endeavours, fund-raising & assembling assets for the recently completed November visit to Stennis.

Installing the engine.

Charles Scott has been travelling abroad to meet with organisations and individuals who will help with the flight operations aspects of the project, this will also assist us in the route to certification. Crucially, Chief Engineer Phil Wallis has been working to bring together a project milestone trip to Stennis carried outduring November 2012 with the specific aim of completing the engine and reheat pipe installations, US translation; Afterburners! This being a complex engineering and logistical task, which involves all of the team from both the UK and many of our US volunteers.
