Quotable “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” – Albert Camus

D.M. Eagle grads Daniel Hodare and Reed Hewitt clean up playground prior to first day of school How many 13-year-old boys would go to their previous school, on a Sunday afternoon, on summer vacation, before school opened, to clean-up and pick up garbage? Daniel Hodare and Reed Hewitt would! These two Tecumseh boys felt the need to help clean up before D.M. Eagle Public School opened for the new year – on their own accord. Daniel and Reed – both DME graduates – felt it was important

to have it presentable and safe for the students on the first day of school. Noticed After being out for walk, the boys noticed the school grounds had garbage thrown around. They went home to get garbage bags, gloves, a marker, some tape and paper and headed back to the school. They fixed the two composters outside that someone had dismantled and then pro-

ceeded to clean the garbage (including beer bottles) around the playground, sitting benches, and picnic tables. The boys felt it was a good idea to label a bag of garbage and take a picture to prove that D.M. Eagle deserves to be kept clean – even during the summer months! What great work and commitment to our local schools and our community – great work Daniel and Reed – D.M. Eagle Public School should be proud!
