The only Medisave approved hospital in Johor Bahru
R
egency Specialist H o s p i t a l (Regency) is a licensed 218-bed, private tertiary care hospital providing a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services. Since 1 March 2010, Singaporeans and PRs who reside in Singapore are able to use their Medisave when seeking approved medical treatments at Regency. Common questions on using Medisave. What are the overseas treatments that Medisave can be used for? • Medically necessary hospitalization for treatment.
• Day surgery for treatment. • Gastroscopy if there are symptoms of gastric pain, bleeding motion and if there is likelihood of treatment e.g. ulcer treatment, polypectomy, piles ligation, colitis. • Colonoscopy if there are symptoms of change in bowel movement, abdomen pain, bleeding motion and if there is likelihood of treatment e.g. ulcer treatment, polypectomy, piles ligation. • Angiogram if there is likelihood of treatment e.g. balloon/stent.
Medisave cannot be used for: • Outpatient treatment charges e.g. consultations for cough and cold, except for certain approved outpatient treatments. • Health screening. • Plastic and reconstructive surgery, unless these procedures are done for medical conditions. • Charges for medical reports and ambulance services. Who can use Medisave for overseas treatments? • Singaporeans and PRs who normally reside in Singapore can use their Medisave for their own treatment overseas. They may use their Medisave to pay medical expenses of their immediate
family members such as spouse, parents or children, if these family members are Singaporeans/PRs or long-term visit pass holders who normally reside in Singapore.

What is the process for Medisave use in Regency Specialist Hospital? Singapore patients who wish to use their Medisave in Regency must be referred through Health Management International (HMI)’s Patient Service Centre at Balestier Clinic & Health Screening Centre in Singapore, where pre-admission clinical assessment and financial counselling will be provided.
What is the limit that I can spend for Medisave in Malaysia? You may spend the same Medisave limit as that in Singapore; the amount that can be used also depends on the treatment you are seeking.Medisave covers up to: • S$450 a day for in-patient hospitalizations. • A fixed limit per table of surgical procedures (varying between S$250 and S$7,550 depending on the procedures). You will need to go personally to the HMI Patient Service Centre in Singapore for pre-admission clinical assessment and financial counselling with the relevant documents. 3.
