FallSemester 2012 Schedule of Classes • page 42 Community Education INTRO TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY($75) This course is for the beginner. Time will be spent exploring the camera body (bring instruction booklet). Subjects covered are ISO, aperture, shutter speeds, manual operation, composition, lighting, and image and creative dials. Instructor, Theresa Burns Tuesdays, August 21-September 25, 6-8:00pm, Burrow ADVANCED DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY ($75) Pre-requisite course-Intro to Digital Photography or instructor permission. This course will explore the computer of the camera. Subjects covered- Exposure compensation, computer menu, his- tograms, lenses, metering modes, pixels and files, elements of design. Also, capturing the best image, importing images into the computer, editing the image, sharing the image, and organ- izing and storing images as well. Instructor, Theresa Burns Tuesdays, October 2-November 6, 6-8:00pm, Burrow INTRO TO PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 8($75) Pre-requisite for this course-Must already be familiar with the computer. Topics included are making files and introduction to the various tools in the Tool Box, opening and naming files, options bar, menu bar, palette bin, cropping and resizing images and simple enhancements. Instructor, Theresa Burns Tuesdays, August 23-September 27, 6-8:00pm, Burrow ADVANCED PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 8($75) Pre-requisite for this course is Introduction to Photoshop Ele- ments or instructor permission. Topics will include portrait re- touching and brush tools, learning to enhance, restore and color additions, filters, frames, adjustment layers, effects con- trols and panoramic. Instructor, Theresa Burns. Thursdays, October 4-November 8, 6-8:00pm, Burrow OUTSMART YOUR SMARTPHONE($30) Does your child know more about your phone than you? This course is intended to help participants learn how to access and use the most popular features of new smartphones and will in- clude information about service carriers; information syncing; how to access and use audio and video; maintenance; and basic phone applications. Participants also will learn about emerging technologies, models, and features common to all phones. HOME DECORATING SEWING($55) Learn to create decorative pillows, table runners, and more to enhance the beauty of your home.Students may use their own fabric. Taught by Karan Smith, WSCC Upholstery Department. Wednesdays, August 15-September 9, 3-5:00pm, Upholstery. BEGINNING GOLF($50) Golf Pro Chess Harris will instruct this course for beginners. Golf clubs as well as everything needed will be provided for the use of the student during the course. October 2, 9, 16, 4-5:00pm Cullman Municipal Golf Course BALLROOM DANCING ($30) This is a beginning level Ballroom Dance class for those who want to develop and/or improve their social dance skills. The in- structor will provide instructions for steps, patterns and proper techniques, including ballroom dance floor etiquette. Three to five dances will be taught depending on class make- up and progress. Tuesdays, August 28-October 2, 6-7:00pm, Burrow Choreography Room Classes begin every four weeks. Call 256.352.8243 to register. ADVANCED BALLROOM DANCING($30) Built upon the basic course, this class is for students who know the basics and want to expand their knowledge. This course will add one or two new steps each lesson plus polishing what they already know. Tuesdays, August 28-October 2, 7-8:00pm, Burrow Choreography Room Classes begin every four weeks. Call 256.352.8243 to register. YOGA($40) Come join us for a time of stretching and strength building that is sure to leave you de-stressed and energized! This class is based on the yoga model that creates a class for all body types and flexibility levels. This class is for anyone interested in im- proving balance, strength and flexibility. Note: Student to bring a traditional yoga mat.
