Reeperbahn ’17 Allan McGowan am@vip-booking.com The Reeperbahn Festival again took place last month in Hamburg. Over the course of four days, over 40,000 visitors, 4,700 of them professional guests from more than 57 nations, took part in the twelfth edition. It was a little late for us to report on this edition in our September issue, and also for medical reasons I was unable to attend, however Peter Briggs of VIP-Booking was there – he tells us: “Reeperbahn has become one of the “must attend” events for us. This year we were busier than ever with back-to-back meetings from the moment we arrived. Part of the reason for this is the increased number of delegates now attending the event but also because of the huge interest we have received for our new social media statistics. edition? Detlef Schwarte: Regarding the conference of the Reeperbahn Festival the most important aspect is the constant recognition that we receive from all parts of the music industry. The numbers of delegates from the live music, recorded music, and the publishing sector are similarly growing from year to year. The keynotes speeches from Melvin Benn, Ole Obermann, Dave Stewart and Hartwig Masuch were all very well attended, indicate the universal definition of Reeperbahn Festival that is unique in Europe and that is additionally underlined by its growing internationality - our delegates came from 56 countries this year.
