a consagración de Ellerstina en los Abiertos de Tortugas, Hurlingham y Palermo marcó el punto final de la temporada de alto handicap en nuestro país. Los chicos de Gral. Rodríguez cerraron un año inmejorable obteniendo la ansiada Triple Corona, logro que sólo pudieron conseguir pocos equipos a lo largo de la historia del deporte: Coronel Suárez, Santa Ana, Indios Chapaleufú, Ellerstina –con Adolfo Cambiaso, en el año 1994– , La Aguada en el 2003 y este último de Ellerstina. El año 2011 se presenta muy interesante con muchísimos cambios en los equipos que aún hoy son una incógnita. Sí hay certezas, por ejemplo, Ellerstina incorpora a Nicolás Pieres, el hermano menor, y a Ignacio Heguy que abandonó Indios Chapaleufú II. Por el lado de Cañuelas, La Dolfina despidió a Bartolomé Castagnola y a Lucas Monteverde para incorporar a Juan Martín Nero y Pablo Mac Donough, flamantes campeones en Ellerstina. Bartolomé y Lucas no se quedaron de brazos cruzados, ambos formarán un equipazo con Agustín y Sebastián Merlos. Los hermanos Novillo Astrada seguirán jugando juntos para La Aguada. The success of Ellerstina at the Tortugas, Hurlingham and Palermo Opens marked the end of the high-goal polo season in our country. The boys from General Rodríguez ended a wonderful chapter clinching the much desired Triple Crown, an achievement only obtained by a few along the history of the sport: Coronel Suárez, Santa Ana, Indios Chapaleufú, Ellerstina –with Adolfo Cambiaso, in 1994– , La Aguada in 2003 and this last year, Ellerstina. The year 2011 is bound to be very interesting with many team changes which are still an interrogation mark. There are some novelties, for instance, Nicolás Pieres, the youngest of the brothers, joins Ellerstina, , and so does Ignacio Heguy, who left Indios Chapalelufú II. On the Cañuelas front, La Dolfina waved Bartolomé Castagnola and Lucas Monteverde good-bye to add Juan Martín Nero and Pablo Mac Donough, brand new winners with Ellerstina. Bartolomé and Lucas did not stay watching on the side-lines and will both feature in a great team with Agustín and Sebastián Merlos.
