Numerous landmarks figure prominently in the beautiful landscapes stretching out before you: the bridges, the Qubec City fortifications illuminated in the evening, Chteau Frontenac and le d'Orlans. You can rest at the many green spaces along the bike path or go an open-air treasure hunt at the A.C. Davie Shipyard National Historic Site of Canada! DAVIE SHIPYARD NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE The year 1829 was a major turning point in the history of Canadian shipbuilding: the Davie family established a shipyard in Lvis that would become one of the largest in the country! The Davies then moved into their new home in Pointe-Levy and installed a hauling berth, the first in Canada, to hoist ships out of the water so they could be repaired beyond the reach of the tides. Cast your anchor at the A.C. Davie Shipyard and discover the historical ins and outs of a great shipyard. The site was once home to the Davies, a family of entrepreneurs who introduced new technologies to the ship-building industry. The oldest hauling ramp on the continent is located here. Take a tour of the A.C. Davie Shipyard Historical Site, either on your own or with a guide. See the exhibition showcasing the skills of the company's workers and visit Homestead, the 22-room house built for the Davie family in 1832. If you take part in the marine heritage treasure hunt, you will find the answers to the questions on the interpretive panels and on the building walls. Land your boat long enough to enjoy what the site has to offer. You can admire one of the most beautiful views of Qubec City while having a picnic in the shady riverside rest area, which is located next to the Parcours des Anses bike trail and only a few minutes away from the ferry terminal.
