San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program September 2013 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments:  A monthly Partnership meeting was held on Thursday, September 19th.  Implementing partner provided support to the City of Visalia with LED lighting payback analysis.  Implementing partner participated in National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) energy efficiency program design panel.  Partnership had a booth at the Tulare County Employee Health Fair.  Implementing partner assisted City of Visalia with Battle of the Buildings, its municipal facility energy usage competition.  Implementing partner made efforts towards drafting an Energy Action Plan for the City of Farmersville.  Implementing partner pulled reports in Energy Star Portfolio Manager in order to identify the highest gas and electricity users in each jurisdiction. In addition, reports were pulled for any facilities that qualified for Energy Star certification. All reports were sent to their corresponding jurisdictions in order to verify facility details. Once details are confirmed, implementing partner will move forward with energy audits and the Energy Star certification process as necessary. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns:  The anticipated Federal Government shut down will cause EPA Portfolio Manager to be inaccessible, preventing any forward movement on benchmarking local government data. This could potentially delay efforts related to energy usage tracking but implementing partner will continue related efforts as best as possible. Upcoming Milestones  The partnership will launch its ‘Kill-a-Watt Crackdown’, a year-long building energy challenge, October 2013 in honor of Energy Awareness Month.
