San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program August 2013 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments:  Implementing partner met with and provided assistance for the City of Visalia’s Battle of the Buildings energy usage competition that will kick off in October to correspond with Energy Awareness month.  Partners met with the Statewide Energy Efficiency Best Practices Coordinator regarding the California Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan changes.  Implementing partner met with utility program manager to discuss outreach events for both County of Tulare and County of Kings.  Implementing partner met with new Gas Company program manager to discuss partnership.  Implementing partner researched and made efforts towards drafting the City of Farmersville’s Energy Action Plan.  Implementing partner participated in the NRDC Stakeholders Forum call to discuss a Long Term Rolling Cycle and Delinking contracting from the regulatory process.  Implementing partner had a call with the Conservation Strategy Group on how to fund local government energy efficiency projects through legislation at the State level.  Implementing partner provided written comment to the CPUC energy division on the needs of local government partnerships in post 2014.  Implementing partner worked on program design for partnership outreach and small business energy reduction campaign (Kill-a-Watt Crackdown) to launch in fall 2013. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns: Upcoming Milestones  The next monthly Partnership meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 19th and will take place at the Tulare County RMA building.  The partnership will launch its ‘Kill-a-Watt Crackdown’, a year-long building energy challenge, October 2013 in honor of Energy Awareness Month.
