Get Involved: there are so many ways

Michele Gomez Krasznai ’89, Director of Alumni Affairs I have had such a tremendous welcome from fellow alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff. I am very excited about getting involved and reaching out to alumni to reconnect with SJHS. It feels like everywhere I go, I run into someone that either went to St. Joe’s or is related to someone that did. It is so refreshing to hear people talk about St. Joe’s and what a remarkable institution it is. I am anxious to hear from alumni, so please visit the alumni section of the website, and also find us on Facebook. We have alumni groups for each decade and also a general alumni page (search St. Joseph High School, Trumbull, CT). Feel free to contact me in the Alumni Office at 203-3770350, or email me at mkrasznai@sjcadets.org with any news or just to say hi.

1970s Kevin Nealon ’71 returned to Connecticut and St Joe’s for a one-off performance, Sunday Night Live, at Sacred Heart University on September 19. Organized as a Class of 2011 Gift, over $10,000 was raised to benefit the school. Bill Panas ’70 finally found the time to accomplish something he’s wanted to do for years: some long distance backpacking. Over two weeks in June of ‘08 he covered the lower 150 miles of Vermont’s Long Trail which extends from the Massachusetts to Quebec borders following the peaks of the Green Mountains. This year, over two weeks in June, he finished the northern 125 miles. Covering 9 to 14 miles a day, he travelled

mostly alone but was joined for 8 of the 28 days on the trail by his son and his wife. He found the solitude uplifting, the trail rugged and challenging (especially the northern part) and the views spectacular. When not hiking, he is a manager of the Control & Integration Department at National Grid, an electric utility in Massachusetts. E-mail address is bpanas@hotmail.com if anyone would like to write. Karen Kiely ’70 recently finished her Masters in Gerontology and Human Development at St Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT. Marcia Sweeney Rondinelli ’78 recently celebrated 30 years of marriage to a Pittsburgh native. Mother of twin girls now 29 years old, Marcia now lives in San Diego, CA and is a Hotel Accounting Controller at a bay front property.
