Interestingly enough, many first-time South Shore visitors, particularly those who find themselves truly connecting with the region’s biodiversity and secluded allure, find themselves wondering what life must be like for the villagers they come in contact with during their daytime excursions. Fortunately for us, there has been a slow but noticeable increase in overnight accommodations between Boca de Tomatlán and Yelapa, each with its own take on what Casitas Maraika owner Alexandra “Sandy” Karam eloquently referred to as a “friendly jungle” experience (see spotlight) while remaining respectful of their natural surroundings. Spending a night or two at any of these retreats offers those who live and work in Puerto Vallarta a chance to unwind and disconnect from work-related responsibilities. And for tourists visiting our destination, particularly those who are doing so for the first time, spending the night in the South Shore offers a unique glimpse into a simpler life that cannot be experienced anywhere else in Banderas Bay. Como es de esperarse, es común que aquellos que se acercan a la Costa Sur por primera vez (y en especial quienes son verdaderamente cautivados por su biodiversidad y aislamiento) tengan curiosidad sobre la calidad de vida de los residentes que conocen durante sus paseos. Afortunadamente, se ha registrado un incremento paulatino en “escondites” entre Boca de Tomatlán y Yelapa, en los que podrás pasar la noche.
