Interested in learning how to sculpt a bust in clay? Join this class and capture the likeness of a live model using an armature and solid clay modeling techniques! Students will experience the entire process of building a solid clay model on an armature to the glazing and post-firing surface treatments. Twenty-five pounds of clay, a live model, glazes and firings are included in the class fee!
In this five week class, students will learn to draw from observation using both the traditional and the contemporary way. Through concentration on the uses of line, proportion, perspective, value and form, students will be given the foundations of drawing techniques and skills. The course will concentrate heavily on experimentation and development from one drawing to the next, using mediums such as vine charcoal, compressed charcoal, and ink. No previous drawing experience is required.
