Honoring Dr. Schlembach Homecoming often brings back memories of the classmates who became friends and the faculty members who offered inspiration and encouragement. Dr. Robert Schlembach ’49, affectionately called Doc, is among the faculty members who continue to support and inspire generations of UT alumni. The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has created a unique opportunity for alumni and friends to acknowledge Dr. Schlembach’s ongoing contributions to the college. In honor of Dr. Schlembach, emeritus faculty member and chair of the college’s current giving campaign, Jerry Wisler BSP ’79, MBA ‘84, has generously contributed $50,000 to the Dean Robert Schlembach scholarship fund. He is enthusiastic about providing financial support for pharmacy students, and he wants other Jerry Wisler UT pharmacy alumni to support pharmacy education in this way. Mr. Wisler stated, “My wife and I are pleased to be making this contribution to such a wonderful cause. The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences was an important element of my career in the pharmaceutical industry. I am especially pleased that this scholarship is in Doc’s name, as he was an inspiration to me while I was a student at UTCP, and remains a lifelong friend. I hope that this donation encourages others to “pay it forward” and support both a college and a person who have meant so much to so many.” By donating to either the Dean Robert Schlembach Scholarship or to the Robert Schlembach Alumni Scholarship, alumni can show their appreciation for Doc, who has shown tremendous dedication to the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and to the education of our students throughout the years. Doc’s legacy of generosity and involvement has enriched the lives of students and helped to transform the college. As a pharmacy practitioner, he has devoted his career to improving patient care and serving the underserved, and he has a longterm goal of increasing scholarships for pharmacy students at UT. Please consider making a five- to ten-year pledge at an annual giving amount that is comfortable for you to support to one of the scholarships named for Dr. Schlembach. Those who make gifts or pledges of $10K or more will receive special recognition as permanent members of the Schlembach Society, and all gifts are appreciated. Your tax-deductible gift or pledge will honor Doc’s leadership and commitment to pharmacy education at The University of Toledo.
