ADMISSION TO THE HONORS COLLEGE AT USF ADMISSION TO THE HONORS COLLEGE AT USF IS HIGHLY SELECTIVE. WE’RE INTERESTED IN INVITING ONLY THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST STUDENTS TO JOIN OUR CLOSE-KNIT COMMUNITY. IN ORDER TO BE ADMITTED TO THE HONORS COLLEGE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: UPPER-LEVEL STUDENTS • 3.5 cumulative post-secondary GPA based on 45 college or university level credits. • Must have successfully completed two full semesters of coursework as a degree-seeking college student.

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS • 3.8 GPA • 1300 SAT, with a minimum 580 verbal or an ACT composite score of 29, with a minimum English score of 29 • 3.0 GPA in any post-secondary or college coursework All students who meet these requirements receive an invitation to join the Honors College once they have been admitted to USF. It is important to apply early, as scholarship assistance is only guaranteed up to a certain date each semester.

HONORS COLLEGE FACULTY: PURVEYORS OF WISDOM, RESEARCH PARTNERS The majority of your Honors College courses—like “Acquisition of Knowledge” and “Arts and Humanities”—will be seminar-style classes of 15 to 25 students. You’ll find yourself engaged in intense conversations with world-class faculty members, some of whom have served as CEOs, worked for NASA and delivered expert testimony in front of Congress, to name just a few of their many accomplishments. In addition to developing close relationships with international experts in the classroom, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with your professors on a wide range of research initiatives. You might:

Research treatments for prostate cancer through the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, located on USF’s campus

Research and implement clean energy initiatives through USF’s Office of Sustainability (you’ll have plenty to choose from; USF was recently ranked one of “America’s Coolest Schools” by the Sierra Club for our rapid advances in sustainability)

Analyze water and waste water provision, control and treatment through USF’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates

Present the results of your collaborative research at USF’s annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, or at national conferences

USF has provided Stephanie Radu the opportunity to participate in research at the Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute and volunteer at Shriner’s Hospital. Imran, a junior in the 7 Year BS/MD Program, is the Volunteer Co-Chair in the Honors College Student Council and a member of the Chemistry Society and the Muslim Student Association.
