Summer Sessions Information ADMISSION It is open enrollment during Summer Sessions 2014. Participation in Pacific Summer Sessions does not imply that enrollment in the regular academic year will be authorized. Any new student who wishes to continue at Pacific in the Fall must make a formal application for admission. Undergraduate Admission: Students interested in working toward an undergraduate degree must submit a formal application for admission, including forwarding the transcripts of all high school and/or college work, SAT or ACT test scores and one letter of recommendation. All undergraduate international students are required to report to the Office of Admission prior to enrolling for any course at The University of the Pacific. Undergraduate admission applications are only available online at www.pacific.edu/admission. Continuing Students: Pacific and nonPacific students may register without formal application for any course for which they have the necessary background. Note: Currently enrolled students must see their advisor prior to Summer Sessions registration. Unclassified Undergraduate Students (New and Continuing): Students who have reached the 27 unit maximum must file an application for admission in the Office of Admission by June 1st (Fall) or December 1st (Spring). New unclassified students need to complete the First Time Unclassified Student Application on page 33 or on the web at www.pacific.edu/registrar under Frequently Used Forms. High School Students: Students are invited to enroll in the courses numbered below 100 for the purpose of earning college credit, sampling the college experience, and/or to accelerate their college program.

Unclassified Graduate Students (New and Continuing): Students who have reached the 12 unit maximum must file an application for admission in the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. Graduate Admission: Students interested in working toward a graduate degree or credential must file an application for admission with the Office of Graduate Studies. For admission in the first summer session, the file must be completed by March 1, 2014. Graduate standing may be granted to persons who hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and who have no less than a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) average in all upper division work. Admission to Credential Standing requires a grade point average of 2.5 or higher (4.0 scale). During the five-week sessions, a full undergraduate student course load is eight units. Petitions to exceed this limit are to be submitted to the Dean of the college or school with which the student is affiliated and to the Associate Provost for Professional & Continuing Education.

CREDIT LIMITATIONS

COURSE NUMBERING SYSTEM Courses numbered 001 to 099 are primarily for college freshman and sophomores. Recent high school graduates or high school students entering their senior year who are in the upper ten percent of their class may also enroll for these courses. Courses numbered 100 to 199 are primarily for college juniors and seniors, but are also open to freshman and sophomores. Courses between 200 and 299 are for graduate students, and those between 300 and 399 are restricted to qualified doctoral students.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES • New unclassified students need to complete the First Time Unclassified Student Application Form either on page 33 or at www.pacific.edu/registrar under Frequently Used Forms. Your username (PacificNet ID) and password information will be given or emailed to you upon receipt of the application. • Pacific and non-Pacific students may register without formal application for any course for which they have the necessary background.
