Contact: Benji Power, Neighborhood Revitalization Planner Contact Information: email@example.com NHSSF is looking for an unpaid special projects intern to help with the following initiative (could be split into 2 internship opportunities): Community Leadership Training: : In the months of September - November 2011 a group of Brownsville residents (about 20) will participate in a leadership training series, based on a nationally developed NeighborWorks America community leadership training curriculum. CB&O staff lead these trainings and the intern will help manage documentation for the training series. Annual Community Paint & Beautification Day: Planning and execution of March 2012 Community Paint & Beautification Day. CB&O staff lead the coordination of volunteer recruitment for 2 months leading up to event, which involves creating marketing materials, managing email and website-driven volunteer recruitment, and creating and administering an event day volunteer management system. Community-led Neighborhood Action Projects: The Community Visioning and Leadership Training processes will highlight some other projects that Brownsville residents and NHSSF can work on together. CB&O staff manages the resident outreach work related to the creation of project ideas, administer communications related to creating new partnerships to support projects, and support grant writing to acquire project funding. Brownsville Community Organizing: CB&O staff will continue to work in and with existing and new Brownsville residents, engaging them in dialogue about Brownsville’s current conditions and its future.
South Florida Community Development Coalition (SFCDC)

housing. Skill requirements include strong oral and written communication, a professional manner, and preferably marketing or advocacy experience. Applicant should be very comfortable using Microsoft Excel, as that is the program SFCDC has been using to compile data and compare results. The intern will reach out to various government agencies and private organizations to research funding sources, and will prepare facts sheets using research collected. The intern will also be involved in meetings with elected officials. Unpaid.
