A national champion, a national runner-up, Pacific coast team champion, a team win over San Jose State College, and a split victory with Washington State College is a summary of the boxing record set by the Idaho team this year. This string of victories barely touches on the success of the individual work of Coach Louis August. Six years ago Louis August came to Idaho as a student. He came with the Pacific coast championship belt, and immediately started work to develop a boxing team. In his second year at the University, he was successful in making boxing a minor sport. This year Coach Louis August was rewarded for his work by seeing one of his men win the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association boxing championship in the 135pound class. Four of his men were entered in the tournament. Looking at the individual records of the men who carried the Silver and Gold into the square ring, we again see the
